A small group on the bus, but led by a big personality, Omar!
Omar assured us that it was pretty much a nailed on certainty that we’d see the Northern Lights on our excursion, and he didn’t disappoint. Omar clearly has a very keen eye, no doubt trained from years of experience, and is able to spot even the faintest, distant glow, drawing attention to it with his trusted laser pointer. However, then the main event kicked off. WOW!. No more need for a laser pointer as we stood is awe, admiring the spectacle above.
The hot chocolate, poured with a friendly smile, is also a welcomed touch.

If you're looking for a great Northern Lights Tour out of Reykjavik, look no further. Our guide Heida was awesome not only in educating us about the phenomenon of the Northern Lights, but also in finding them (the 3rd stop was the best - it was NL 'hunting'). Most of all, she was very patient in taking high quality photographs of each of us in the relatively small (15 person) group with the Northern Lights behind us. They are so much more magnificent when viewed through the lens of a camera because of the greater aperture. A must!

Thank you SO much for the wonderful trip! It was amazing to travel throughout the Snæfellsnes Peninsula with you and to take part into the first ever trip of the International Committee of the University of Iceland.
Thank you so much for providing us an amazing bus.
It was really a great day!

We would highly recommend the Thule tours. Last night we were taken to a very dark area in Iceland to view the dancing night sky. What made the evening so special was the two guides on the night. Omar and Andy were very informative and found areas that larger tour operators couldn’t go with huge coaches and groups of 50/60 customers. A very personal experience with wonderful views of the sky at night - we were so fortunate to have been recommended by our hotel reception 👏👏👏👏👏

The guide made what could have been a very tiring trip excellent. My son was particularly happy that he could use the laser to point out stars and the lights and we were all delighted when the big telescope was set up so we could see the stars up close.
Hot chocolate and home made cookies were also included which were much appreciated as we were outside for 3 hours in the dark waiting for the lights to make an appearance!

We booked through Viator and had the tour through Thule Tours. The first night we were skunked with no northern lights to be viewed. However, on a makeup night we were treated to a northern lights show.
Omar ( our guide) was entertaining, personable and took good care of the passangers.
During the tour he took pictures with the passengers and with only the NLs.
The pictures were made available to.download at no additional fee.
We had a great time.

Took the tour Oct 24th, we were able to see the Northern Lights. Unfortunately, the company Thule Travel, sent a new tour guide who arrived 45 minutes late at the bus stop (she even apologized for being late) and who seemed not to have been trained on how to be a tour guide. The bus driver stopped on the side of the road so that we could enjoy the Lights, a very risky and life threatening decision. The driver took pictures and he was supposed to share them with all who took the tour but two weeks later there are no emails regarding the pictures. No hot cocoa either.

You were told that you need to send us your email on our email thuletravel@thuletravel.is to receive the photos. When you do, you get the pictures otherwise I don't know where to send them
Here are the comments from passengers in the same bus as you

I'd highly recommend this company to anyone searching for a reliable team for Northern Lights hunting 👌 Our guide & driver was really kind and helpful, they knew exactly where we should go and what do we seek on the sky. At first we didn't see much, just something like smoky green clouds - after 20-30 min we even went back to the bus because it was freaking cold out there 🥶 As soon as the lights became more active, they called us outside immediately. We saw this beautiful, unique phenomenon and it was a lifetime experience we'll never forget 🥰
Best regards

Took a tour to view the Northern Lights we were picked up from a point close to our hotel and after two more pick ups we changed to a bus. The tour leader was so much fun from we were picked up. Within an hour we were at the point for viewing. Information was given en route about what to expect and a few myths associated with the lights. Pictures were taken if you wanted to. Instructions were given as to how to view the pictures taken. I sent the email as instructed and I got a response the next day. This was nice bonus for those who were not able to capture the lights on their phones or camera. Great job continued success. I would use them for other tours.

This was a great experience! We were picked up at the Marina Hotel very promptly. The bus was a mini bus that was brand new with super fast WiFi the whole trip. We booked this trip the day of, once we heard the northern lights score was a 5 (which we were told was very high). Our tour guide was Heida and she was very informative about the lights and you could tell she just loved her job. We stopped in multiple locations in order to try to see the northern lights. We got super lucky (as there is no guarantee you'll see them) and saw the lights on our first stop! It was a small group, maybe 10 of us total so that made the experience even better and most importantly, quieter. My favorite part was after the first stop Heida saw that the lights were picking up, she made the driver pull over and made us rush out of the van quickly so we wouldn't miss the show. We saw white, green, blue and even purple (which Heida said was even rare for her). The price of the trip was super reasonable, especially since you're not guaranteed to see anything! Highly recommend this tour and company.
