What a fantstic way to begin our time in Reykjavik! We met Ivar at a record store then the three of us walked through the streets of this beautiful city - stopping on the way to eat delicious treats at a local bakery, drink cocktails at a cool bar and divine wine and cheese at another gorgeous bar. Ivar shared his local knowledge and love of the city and Iceland, and we talked and talked about history, politics, life, and music. Ivar was a wonderful guide - it felt more like hanging out with a new friend for the afternoon, while also learning lots of new things and great information that we used for the rest of our stay. Thank you so much Ivar - we really hope to return one day and highly recommend your tour! Vanna and Steve

We can’t say enough good things about our tour with Ívar! We spent the most delightful afternoon of our stay in Reykjavik. He should us a city we would have totally missed had we just explored in our own. Ívar is a treasure trove of cultural and practice information on the whole Island as well as this city. We started our visit at Lucky Records then proceeded for tastes of local beer and food at The Kex Hostel. Then on to the most wonderful Brauo & Co Bakery. And then to a gem of a place known only by its address, Kverfisgata 12, for craft cocktails crafted by Thomas. We ended our afternoon shopping at Akkurat for some local design clothing. Even after our tour, Ívar followed up with an email with several more suggestions on things to see and do. All this, and not least, he is a musician with the band FM Belfast. We were lucky enough to meet his band mate Loa and snag a picture with her and a copy of their new CD, Island Broadcast. Check them out! Haven’t quit playing it since we got home. All in all, this should be the first place on your Reykjavík tour. We wish we had had more time to follow up on all of his suggestions. It was as if we had met a new old friend. Thank you, Ívar

If you love music, food and/or places to drink, this is the tour for you. Ivar is an incredibly friendly and knowledgable host who will take you away from the tourist spots and show you Reykjavik through the eyes of a local resident. My tip would be to book a tour as early into your trip as you can so you can visit the places he will take you to.

If you're interested in the history of Vikings or want to go bother whales, this is probably not the tour for you. If, on the other hand, you're curious about Icelandic music, or, even more so, if you're obsessed with Icelandic music, this tour is a must. Ivar is easily one of the coolest people I've ever met, and he'll take you on a good long ramble well off the beaten paths of Reykjavik, sharing his own experiences, local music folklore, and scandalous rumors. You'll also have the opportunity to pause for a delicious bite and tasty beverage along the way. All in all, one of the best experiences I've had in a good long while.

This was the first thing we did in Iceland, the day we landed. We weren't sure what to expect, but this was beyond anything I imagined. You meet at Lucky Records, an old, cool shop with tons of vinyl. It was the perfect place to start, with Ivar being a musician. We talked music and then he took us around to a bunch of his favorite places. They all had a cool vibe. We had cinnamon rolls, 5-star snacks, great cocktails and met a bunch of really nice people along the way. We even went back to a few of the places because they were so good! Ivar is so likeable - it's like you're hanging out with an old friend. Ivar - hope to see you one day in Colorado! Thank you again for a great start to our Icelandic adventure!
