This pool is usually less busy than Sundhöll Reykjavíkur and Laugardalslaug. I recommend taking a dip in the cold one (4c-8c) than to the hottest one (42c), repeat a couple of times 👌. As always, please remember to wash before entering the pools in Iceland 🙏.

In Iceland, you can find swimming pools everywhere. Most have hot pots or jacuzzi, shallow parts for children and of course, free soap and water. Care must be taken to wash well before entering the pool as not doing so, is regarded as disrespect and shabbiness. There is no time limit and the opening times in Reykjavik at least is from 6.30 in the morning till 22 at night. During the darkest time of the year, it is magical to sit in a hot pot, watching the stars...

This is a great facility with multiple hot pools and whirlpools. If you are over 67 it is free of charge. Wonderful for kids and families. Slides steam rooms, hot pools, children pools and more. We went just before getting on the plane to leave and it was wonderful.

It is located further away than downtown Reykjavik (about 15-20min drive) but better than the famous Laugardalslaug. It is comprised of an outdoor pool, indoor children’s pool, outdoor paddling pool, water slide, three hot tubs, steam bath and sauna. Located quite close to Árbaer City museum. It is the same as other pool in Iceland that you need to pay a small fees which include use of a locker. Mostly local used this pool cause you need a car to get here but the main point is that it is NOT crowded. There are 3 hot tubs having different temperatures which is suited for different people. And the water slide is really great as less kids use this pool and there is no queue at all. We watched the beautiful sunset as we soaked in a nice hot tub which makes it so memorable. Definitely will be coming back to this pool again when we come back to Iceland.

This was a nice visit on a COLD day. Nice non-slip, poolside flooring material. Hot pools were nice, some had little nooks and crannies. Steam room and Sauna. There's a HUGE slide that would be fun to try in the summer. Kids were playing on the smaller slide.

This location has a view over the valley. The pools are smaller than most of the other ones in the city, but there are plenty of options for relaxing as well as swimming. You may need to share with the local schools, who use the pool for their swimming lessons, but they stay in the two lanes at the very end and will not be bothering anyone :) If you are looking for a quieter and more local pool, this is the one to go to!

Great day out! My son had a ball going up and down the water slide while I stayed in the hot pools.
There are 2 circular in ground pool tubs heated at 38-40 degrees, one at 37 degrees and another at 40-44 degrees (my favourite). There is a sauna, another lap pool and the main pool (still heated but much cooler) is separated into two sections off the lap pool - one section to allow for the water slide and another turns to a shallow indoor pool if you need cover from rain or cold. Bonus: outdoor showers to cool down after swimming and a drinking fountain which you need after a hot dip. You can buy food and drinks as well as hire towels. A locker comes with your entry fee.
They don’t hire bathers so definitely bring your own. And no mobile phones are allowed in the shower or pool area. On week days it shuts at 8pm and is easy to get to and from the city/pool with the Number 5 bus from the bus stop outside the BSI terminal. Took less than 10 minutes each way.
We were about the only tourists in what is a local swimming pool.
It is not like The Blue Lagoon in any shape, colour or form or experience, but it is a great and cheaper way to relax in a warm pool and hang out with the locals once you have experienced the blue lagoon.

Lovely pool & hot tubs with great views of Elliðaárdalur valley. A little way out of Reykjavik centre but easy to reach by bus and well worth it. We combined it with a walk in Elliðaárdalur and a visit to the near by open air museum, which made a nice day out (buses, museums & pools are all included in a Reykjavik card)

This is a geothermal pool area about 40 min outside Reykjavik. Many locals frequent this pool. Enjoyed the area on 2 different days - we just wanted to return and made time to do so. Very therapudic temp: 38-40C and 42-44C.
Very clean, pleasant outdoor atmosphere in December - would return in a heart beat - looking for reasonable flights to reykjavik just to frequent the geo thermal pools.

Our party of 5 with a teen & pre-teen went here late afternoon. We were the only non-locals. You can buy a pass for all the city's pools that CAN be shared among family.
For the Puritan Americans - similar to pretty much all worldwide bathhouses, yes, you must shower nude before entering. Annnnd, it looked like an unmanned ofc with a window (for an "observer") overlooked the showers.
You enter an "acclimation pool" from inside & then move in the water to the outdoor pool. From there, you can choose among varying heat levels of smaller pools, walk up & ride the slide (it was actually pretty aggressive at a couple of points), or use the lap pool.
If you're taking pics, there's no real safe place to keep the camera so take pics & return it to lockers which are a short walk from the pools anyways. NO phone/camera use in locker room/shower area. Yes, this actually needs to be said.
I believe (but unsure), you're suppose to dry off before hitting the locker area. The women's custodian passive-aggressively made this point by slamming locker doors & vacuuming between our feet while dripping wet. ... Or maybe it was something else she didn't like abt us?!?!
Didn't really care bc it was a perfect, relaxing ending to our day!
