It's relatively easy to get photos without anyone in them even though this is a well-visted site. It's on the coastal path so you can do a nice walk along to Harpa. Or, you can drive in the beating rain, rush out during a rain reprieve, take 40,000 photos and then get back in our car. It's got a lovely... More

This sculpture is a neat little item on the Reykjavik shoreline. From here in the day, you get some wonderful views of the snow covered mountain across the water.

This was a part of a tour, spend about 20 minutes there, a home is located at the same location, where the Russians and US had a meeting, there is a piece of the Soviet Wall that is also on display.

Really cool spot to look across the harbour plus a view of Harpa and a different outlook of Reykjavik. The sculpture itself is interesting and it fits very well in the city landscape.

We took a stroll down to the Solfar Sculpture at 1am when the midnight sun was still illuminating the sky. It was a beautiful experience and would definitely recommend as a must see in Reykjavik.

Easily accessible on the edge of the harbour in central Reykjavik. Absolutely stunning piece and you CANNOT take a bad photo! WIN!

This was part of our city tour, and was worth the stop to me. The moutains and clouds made for a beautiful backdrop for photos.

Situated at the waterfront, it is a great attraction on its own but also because of the surroundings - black lava stone of the beach beneath and the blue of the sea. Excellently illuminated in the night, looks like an amazing artistic installation. If you're visiting in the winter, be prepared for the harsh wind and the cold.

Was the most amazing view from this point, and on a clearer day (or in the summer) it would have been even better! Quick walk back into town but be careful for the ice on the black marble type surface as many were accidentally falling over.

nice artistic sculpture can be very crowded with tourists clamoring for the best shots especially at sunrise and sunset
