The hike up to and on the glacier was amazing. Anna did a wonderful job as our guide--very knowledgeable, very friendly and patient, and willing to take lots of pictures for you! The experience was an amazing one. The hike requires a moderate level of fitness as you're going uphill more or less for 2 hours or so total. But nothing extreme and no steep spots at all. Just gentle uphills for a while, then about an hour to get downhill again. The operation was very efficient, with all the necessary equipment to stay safe and comfortable. A day pack with some snacks in it is not a bad idea for when you start getting hungry at lunchtime. We went in May and had a fairly cloudy day. Even though the air temperature was cool, you warm up quickly hiking uphill. If the sun had been out, it would have been very warm under all my layers. So layer up, but remember that you will warm up a lot. I wore gloves part of the way, but took them off once I got warmed up. All in all, amazing trip. The blue color to the ice, especially in crevasses and little caves in the ice were amazing. Great experience!
