Overview
We begin our journey by driving to one of Iceland's most legendary sites, the national park of Þingvellir. This is the original home of the Althing, the world's oldest extant parliament, and this is where the North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.

Next up is Haukadalur, home to hot springs that include the legendary Geysir (from which all geysers derive their name) and the still-active Strokkur. We will have lunch in Haukadalur, including some local delicacies. From there, it is only a 10 minute drive to Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall), one of Europe's most powerful waterfalls and considered by some to be the highpoint of this tour.

Our next stop is Friðheimar, an Icelandic greenhouse where you can see (and perhaps taste) for yourself how Icelanders use renewable energy to grow vegetables. On our way back home, we stop to take a look at the scenic volcanic crater Kerið and get a chance to see many examples of lcoal horses and farms.

Rented a car and went on a road trip. Explored the area solo. Amazing views. My favorite spot in Iceland. Very quiet. Explore alone.

Our guide Was Kathy she took us to unique and beautiful sites in Iceland. I don’t think we would have had the same experience in a larger tour. She even got us reservations for the best dinner we had in Iceland.

We had one additional night in Iceland before our flight back to the states and this was after our first initial few days, a couple weeks prior and then a trek around Europe. We knew we wanted to stay close to the airport and see as much as we could in a short time. We stumbled upon Bjarni's Reykjanestours/Layover Tour and booked it the night before we were to arrive. His communication was impeccable and expertise was phenomenal. We had a great time adventuring around with him. We not only loved our experience but felt like we gained a new friend. We will not hesitate to reach out to him when we return to Iceland in a year or two. Sending all our best to him, his fiance, her son and their fur baby.

I recommend this tour very highly. We were picked up in Reykjavik and given a great tour of fantastic spots away from the very busy Golden Circle. Bjarni was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable - we were particularly impressed with Brimketill and the Gunnuhuver springs and would definitely do another tour with his company.
