On the way to Viking Museum, interesting info board to read and picture how difficult life would have been for fisherman.

Maybe you don't have to see these specifically, but you can't leave Iceland without seeing the turf houses. These are nice and in a spot that's conveniently close to the international airport.

not bad - we stopped here on the way to the airport together with the viking museum. it’s very simple and nice - illustrates how people in iceland lived in the end of the 19th century. close by is the viking museum with the copy...More

When I was stationed at Keflavik NAS years ago, went on the short excursion to these picturesque Icelandic folklore houses with their unique grass roofs, nice to peak inside to get a glimpse of Icelandic life.

Did some "turbo-touristing" right before checking in for departure. An interesting stop that allows outsider to have a gander at what was once a way of life for Icelanders. Almost seems like a world away. Oh... I'm pretty sure I saw puffins take off.

If in the Keflavik area or near Viking World, I would recommend taking a few minutes to walk around Stekkjarkot. Like others mentioned, I came here, and it was pretty empty with nothing going on. But it was fun to walk around and take pictures...More

Went to peek at these houses after Viking World, and like others have mentioned, they were locked up. Took a photo out front, but nothing to see and faaaarr too cold and windy to look around.

I wandered over here after visiting Viking World and learned a bit more about the history of Iceland. The houses were not open, but I was able to peek into the windows. Nice place to relax too.

Stekkjarkot is close to Viking World and there are small fishermen houses more than 100 years old. Sadly the houses were closed when we went.
