We started with the seaside tour and came back the same week for another fantastic tour. Two of our children (8,9 and 10 years old) had never been on a horse before, but they were assisted by very friendly and experienced staff. At the end off the 1,5 hour seaside tour the kids felt very confident on the back of the horses. With compliments to our guide Isabel. (what also helped is that she speaks dutch). And of course the very friendly and lovely Islandic horses!
We therefore went for the second time, and did a tour through the fields. It was an amazing tour in the beautiful fields near Husavik with stunning views over the Greenland Sea and the mountains of Iceland.
We recommend these horse tours to families with children. The e-mail contact beforehand was handled very well by the staff.

I spent a magical day doing the seaside extended tour. The horses are adorable and so is the staff (special thanks to Claire!). Walking and tölting through the Icelandic highlands and near the sea is an experience I recommend to everyone. If I had to describe it in one word, it would probably be "magic" though it's not even close to do this experience justice.

I just returned from a 1.5 hour tour riding Roomba. It was on my bucket list to ride an Icelandic horse.
Since I had done much riding before and there was a group of inexperienced riders, a guide took me out separately. We got to trot and gallop on the edge of the sea and the beach. It was just extraordinary.
Thank you for taking the time to make my bucket list item so special.

We booked the Seaside tour and had a wonderful time! Annalena was so kind and guided us on a beautiful tour along the coast—entertaining us with stories and fun facts about Iceland and the horses along the way. We even learned how to tölt which was quite the experience. Saltvik was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Me and my partner had a fantastic time , no experience required , the views were breathtaking and we were super lucky to see a minke whale in the bay too. The horses were delightful and calm. Elena the guide was lovely . We very much enjoyed the experience and we are very happy we decided to do it before leaving Husavik.

Can you give something 5 millions stars??? Thanks what this deserves!! Clair and Laura Sophie led our amazing Icelandic horses along a gorgeous two hour ride among mountains, beaches and purple lupin. It couldn’t have been better, and the guides were SPECTACULAR. Thanks!!!

My 13 year old daughter and I signed up for the extended sea side riding tour. We have horses at home and trail ride often, so it was a good match for us. It ended up being two rides with a break in the middle at the farm for lunch, bathroom, etc. We had the opportunity to change horses for the afternoon if we wished. I didn't wish as my horse was the sweetest little guy - an absolute joy to ride and surprisingly responsive given his job. We rode along the beach and on bluffs above the fjord and up through the hills on paths through the lava fields with snow capped peaks in the distance. We even saw a mother and baby whale in the fjord and heard one of them blow out it's breath loudly. Amazing! We had lovely weather and it was just a fabulous experience. I'd return in a heartbeat.

I booked the extended seaside Tour and it was so awesome.
The weather was great and my guide Elena was so nice and helpful. The horse was calm and I felt safe although my last ride was some years ago. The landscape on the extended Tour is awesome

We did the seaside tour and it was just the right length. The views are amazing and it was just my small group and the tour guide. Seeing all the horses and then going through this amazing landscape was great. One of my party had no prior riding experience and this was not an issue..the horses are very docile. Overall, I highly recommend Saltvik...we had a great time.
