After checkout from hotel Husafell, we decided to stop on our way to Reykjavik - and we're glad that we did. This is a group of picturesque & powerful waterfalls - great to check out, and all located near each other.

Two for the price of one in this place (don't worry, both free). Well worth a visit, especially from a geological point of view, a unique feature I hadn't seen before and was rather cool to see. Lovely and quiet at this time of year,...More

The falls cannot be seen from the road but once you have parked and walked a very short distance the view is super. Take an hour or so to wander along the path up and down river.

Beautiful falls. Well worth the drive out of the city. Peaceful, beautiful and so picturesque. The weather in late October was a mix of snow and rain. So dress warm and waterproof if traveling in October. There is a cafe near the parking lot with...More

Barnafoss looks a bit different from other waterfalls. It’s multiple falls are beautiful. Great to view and listen to the water rushing through the lava rocks. The sun and clouds made for beautiful pictures.

Hraunfossar consists of an almost 1 km series of low waterfalls emerging from a lava bed and falling into the Hvita river. It's very attractive and extremely photogenic, though many of Iceland's high waterfalls are more dramatic. Well maintained paths and bridges enable a variety...More
