Honestly the staff is so rude that it ruins the place. Both teenagers are seated listening to their music with phones and on their smartphones and don't even say hi when we walk in. When you ask for details and information about the house and some traveling tips on the area (as this is also a visitor information centre) it seams we are bothering them with questions. So even if the exposition may be interesting, you just feel like leaving the place. Shame. …

Our seniors tour coach driver made a brief rest stop here - 20 minutes. Gee... after using the restroom inside the Visitor Center I wandered (hurriedly) around upstairs to look at the exhibits. I really wished we could have stayed here an hour as it all looked quite interesting. They also have a nice shop for buying maps and local interest items. BTW... I did a super-quick look at the Skreidarskemman Maritime Exhibition that is just across the street/parking lot from the Gamlabud Visitor Center. Anyone interested in historical fishing and sailing should take a look inside the long storage shed. It's open from 8 a.m. til 8 p.m. daily.…

The girl who spoke with us, gave us heaps of info about a visit to a glacier so we could walk right up to it, great restaurant advice and info for other areas we were visiting. Perfect stop if you want good information and a friendly chat.

it's worth getting in and looking at small exhibitions, taking maps or advertising offers, for example, a glacier walk that I recommend. it's worth to see the movie about the disaster after the volcano eruption in 1996. It is a pity that there is no movie about 2010 because I remember this explosion much better.…

The exhibits at the visitor center were very helpful in identifying birds we had been seeing. They gave us excellent directions to the glacier, and generally had everything one expects in a visitor center.
