the Zodiac boat trip was fantastic; thanks to Tamara our pilot, who shared her great enthusiasm and knowledge with us about the glacier lake. We even saw some seals too

We booked this on our individual trip through Iceland, an exciting 1 hour Zodiac tour. We arrived at the Ice Lagoon where the icebergs were close to the beach; amazing view! At the booking time, a well organised team got us into our suits and we walked the short distance to where the boats are located. Our Guide was fantastic, forgot unfortunately his name, but he explained everything and it was a proper geology / history brief. He was so happy to be showing off his island and the experience we were on. He grew up nearby and told about how the glacier was in his childhood and how it changed during the last 3.5 years that he is working there. His knowledge and his nice way of telling stories was absolutely fun; genius! Overall this was the best and made so by the Guide. Must do experience and with such a good company who should be proud of the people they have working for them! As some other have said, take some clothes and head gear you may just need it!

Out of all the trips and experiences we did on our tour around Iceland, this is the one we voted as the best. Arrive to floating ice caps and it really is sureal. I shut my eyes and they were still there when I opened them. Short ride down to the boat and amazing experience zooming across the lagoon between the ice caps. Informative and interesting guide and the highlight of our trip was seeing a seal on the way back.

We booked this as part of our 5 day road trip through Guide to Iceland. We arrived at Ice Lagoon where the icebergs and seals were close to the beach and we saw some boats going in and around them. At the booking time, a well organised team got us into our suits and onto the coach to drive the short distance to where the boats are located. Our Guide was fantastic, her name Tamara. She explained everything and it was a proper geology / history brief. She was so happy to be showing off her island and the experience we were on. From her knowledge I thought she must have studied geology but no, she did economics! We left the quay and at 40kph headed to the glacier front some 7km away. This was exhilarating and kids loved this and a bit of small waves hoping on the way back. We got close to the glacier with the Guide explaining that we can’t go too close just when there was a massive rumble and part of the submerged face popped up in front of us! Something she hadn’t seen this season. We then went to see some of the recent icebergs and how the colour changes. They flip over at certain points and you could see the colour contrasts, ash lines from previous eruptions etc This was all away from the ones close to the car park. Overall this was the best and made so by the Guide. Must do experience and with such a good company who should be proud of the people they have working for them! As some other have said, take some clothes and head gear you may just need it!
