We went on this tour at 10am. They suited us up, put us on a big truck, gave us an energetic introduction, split up our group, and put us off on the boats. Our guide loved every thing about glaciers and explained colors, movement, etc. He was Icelandic but living in Sweden. We went pretty far out there, saw some seals, and we were lucky enough to see some blue tinted icebergs. He was happy to get us our best pics by turning the boat or backing up. He was engaging and answered lots of questions. He really had enthusiasm. I would definitely suggest gloves and a hat. You get 2 pockets to put stuff in and I wish I had put some Kleenex in mine. The cold made my nose runny. I was worried about getting sea sick and I was fine. If you get motion sick then I’d suggest trying to get in the front seats of the big truck, but even that’s not bad. I loved this activity and would definitely recommend!

Our small family had an exceptional experience with Ice Lagoon Adventure Tours. We had 8 of us on our boat and we were taken close enough to the glaciers to fully appreciate them. The tour is filled with heaps of great information and our guide looked for the best places to go - this was not a formula tour. The company is super efficient in that they get you dressed in gear, on the ice bus, on the boat and back on your way without standing around or waiting time. What we especially appreciated about this tour was the small group and the fact this company can take you so close to the glaciers. Dress warmly and have an excellent experience!

Recommended without hesitation. Great fun on the boat, which is very stable and zips you across the lagoon to (a safe distance from the) glacier, and then takes you around the very sizeable icebergs which had calved. You are provided with a full body suit and life jacket, so you can just wear a T-shirt on your top. You won't be cold, but you may want to talk gloves. Your feet don't get wet, so normal trainers/shoes are fine. Paulina was an excellent guide and took the time for us to get snaps of assorted photogenic seals basking on the ice too. A fantastic experience that we'll remember forever. As with everything else in Iceland, not cheap, but worth every penny.

We booked this on our individual trip through Iceland, an exciting 1 hour Zodiac tour. We arrived at the Ice Lagoon where the icebergs were close to the beach; amazing view! At the booking time, a well organised team got us into our suits and we walked the short distance to where the boats are located.

Our Guide was fantastic, forgot unfortunately his name, but he explained everything and it was a proper geology / history brief. He was so happy to be showing off his island and the experience we were on. He grew up nearby and told about how the glacier was in his childhood and how it changed during the last 3.5 years that he is working there. His knowledge and his nice way of telling stories was absolutely fun; genius!

Overall this was the best and made so by the Guide. Must do experience and with such a good company who should be proud of the people they have working for them!

As some other have said, take some clothes and head gear you may just need it!

We had an amazing time on this trip. We met at the trailer starting point and got suited up with jump suits and life jackets. There was a super quick ride in the bus (4 mins) to the boat launch. The zodiacs were spacious and we each found a seat.

Tamara, our guide, was fantastic - so full of information, she delivered so many interesting facts with enthusiasm and humour and always with a smile. She was the perfect guide and captain. She took us out to the glacier wall that was located 8kms out. Stopped at many floating icebergs to tell us about them and also got us to where the seals were basking in the sun.

This was an awesome tour. Highly recommended.

The tour was excellent! We were a little overdressed as they supply you with a full body survival suit, so dress accordingly. The ride to the Jokusarlon glacier was exhilarating and Erik, our captain and guide was very informative. My wife, who has mobility issues, was supported by all of the staff. One gentleman tied the laces on her boots, those survival suits are bulky, they gave her special attention while boarding and disembarking the zodiac. They gave a seat where she did not need to hold on to the lines while the boat was going to the glacier. They support from all the staff was amazing. We would recommend this company to anyone who wants to have the ride of their life to the foot of Jokulsarlon glacier and then to see the amazing icebergs that have calved from that glacier.

We had an awesome experience on the zodiac boat tour. We were put in huge astronaut suits to keep us warm. We then went right for the glacier, 7km away from the diamond beach shore. Our guide took the time to show us seals, birds, and gave us interesting insights in the forces of nature at work here and in the deterioration of the glacier, which was quite shocking. I would totally recommend this tour and I personally think I’d prefer it over the kayaking tour (though I didn’t do that one).

We recently took the zodiac boat tour of Glacier Lagoon with Ice Lagoon Company. We absolutely loved it! Our guide (pronounced Chevy but not spelled that way!) was amazing. It ended up being a windy day and it was iffy if we could make it across to see the glacier on the opposite side of the lagoon. Chevy made it work out by approaching from the left side. It was choppy but so worth it! Watched the seals play as the icebergs floated by. We even saw two huge chunks of ice break off the glacier (called calving) which was very exciting! Our guide was knowledgeable about the geology of the area and could answer all of our questions. A few years ago we took the same tour with the other company at Glacier Bay and we liked this outfitter better! Well worth the $, a must see if you are in southern Iceland! Highly recommend Ice Lagoon for your boat trip on Glacier Bay!

Me and my partner wanted to go kayaking on the lagoon, but as this was fully booked we went for a boat tour instead - we were not disappointed and probably lucky as we got to see much more than we would have!

On the way to the glaciers edge we came across stunning icebergs, a sublime view of the mountain reflecting in the water and the odd seal catching some sun on the ice. Our guide Tamara was very knowledgeable and showed great enthusiasm which made the tour that much more enjoyable.

A definite must for anyone visiting Iceland!

Wow! I'm so pleased I booked this trip. Getting up close to the huge icebergs and the glacier wall were just jaw dropping.
We were given some very warm kit, but having warm clothes on yourself was also advised as once on the boat we sped off to get to the glacier wall which was 5 miles away!
We stopped off to see a seal, lounging on an iceberg. Our driver Chevvy, said he called them all Steve 😂
The glacier wall was immense and so beautiful. We were given many facts about the glacier and it was so interesting. We hung around for 15 minutes or so and didn't see anything fall off, so had decided to go and check out another seal and the icebergs.
BUT just then Chevvy had a call from the other boat. We sped off to the other end of the glacier to see that the glacier had calved an iceberg. 😲 A massive chunk of Ice had fallen and was rolling around in the water. It was beautiful and exhilarating. Chevvy was beyond happy, having not seen anything like this for a while. His expert driving skills and knowledge kept us at a safe but close distance to the new iceberg.
Amazing to see the dark colours of the ice that had been until now under the water.
A Truly awesome trip, everything was fantastic, well worth it.
Thank you 😁
