We booked Braggi / Arctic Shots for an all-day photo excursion to Snaefellesness Peninsular on our last full day in Iceland. During 12 hrs with 7 female photographers, he was patient, professional and interested in making our trip fun and successful. He helped with settings, compositions and took us to all the iconic locations from sunrise to sunset. If the index had been good for Aurora, he was willing to take us to a great location. Our only regret was that we did not book Braggi earlier in the week for any (or all) of the 3 nights the Aurora was visible. A+ experience!

Odinn was an amazing tour guide. He took us to a place where there were so many photo opportunities and knew exactly where the Aurora would look best. He also assisted with getting the best pictures from my camera and took some incredible shots that he emailed the following day. He was super fun and even supplied some strong hot chocolate. The whole experience was incredible and definitely go with Arctic Shots if you are thinking of doing a Northern Lights tour.

Best Trip Ever! This is how I would describe my amazing tour with Arctic Shots & Bragi around the Ring Road, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Northern Lights and the volcano. It was my second time out with him, first time was a Northern Lights tour in January 2020. Bragi really showed my friend and I as much of Iceland as our time allowed. I wish I could add the list of all the stops we made on our journey, but it is a page and half long. Each stop showed a different perspective of the wonderful country of Iceland and what an amazing spot it is in the world. This was a photography tour and Bragi taught me how to use my camera correctly, helped with settings, bracketing, long exposures and showed me great angles of where to shoot among other things. He has also helped with editing as I am new to photography but is something I have always wanted to learn. All of this allowed me to come home with a plentiful amount of pictures to remember this spectacular trip.

When I booked this tour, Arctic Shots took care of everything, we just had to book our flights. They really made it easy. Bragi not only is an excellent and professional guide and photographer but genuinely kind, has a great sense of humor, and a very creative person inspired by all the natural beauty of Iceland. His passion for photography is also very evident as he is always looking for a good shot and lighting. This really was one of the most incredibly fun trips I have ever taken. Many wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. I give my HIGHEST recommendation to both Arctic Shots and Bragi!

Takk, my friend Bragi for such an amazing adventure! It was really the BEST! Looking forward to the next adventure- hopefully soon!

This was by far the best experience we had in Iceland and for $109 it was a steal. Bragi and Sigi picked us up from our hotel and took us to multiple places to ensure that we got beautiful pictures to take back home. They also provided some amenities such as hot chocolate and were very funny. Oh and I forgot they actually took pictures for us with the Aurora it was AWESOME!!

On the plane ride back everyone was super jealous that we actually got to see the aurora lights and they mentioned that they spent around $180. So it just made that moment that we spent together so much better.

If you don't book through them you're missing out on an amazing experience.

This is the 3rd tour we’ve booked with Arctic Shots which also makes this the 3rd review that I’ve written for them. We originally booked a 2-day tour to the Glacier lagoon and ice caves with them but Siggi (co-owner) informed us a couple of days before the trip that the weather conditions were not ideal for us to make this trip. It had been unusually warm in Iceland and the entrance to the ice caves was flooded. Instead of just throwing in the towel and canceling on us, he quickly thought up another itinerary to show us the best photoshoot locations that we had not seen yet. We ended up with a modified Reykjanes peninsula and Golden Circle tour for the first day and the Snæfellsnes tour for day 2. He also made sure that we would have a chance to see the Northern Lights in our itinerary. He took care of helping us change our hotel booking in Reykjavik as well.

We had an amazing two days with him and my father in law, husband and myself learned a lot. Siggi shared his photography knowledge with us and showed us the best locations to shoot. He timed our itinerary so we could see sunrises and sunsets in the most scenic locations. Although the Northern Lights activity was too low for us to see anything, he still tried his best to find a good location for us. We saw it with him last year so we knew we were working with the best tour operator in Iceland for the Northern Lights.

In my opinion, he went above and beyond to give us the best experience ever. Not to mention that I was in constant contact with him before our trip to help me plan our return to Iceland. Siggi is funny, professional, kind and super helpful. You won’t find any other tour operator like him.

Don’t hesitate to book your next adventure with Arctic Shots. The tours we took with them have always been the highlight of our trips and I know that all their customers will have the same experience too. I can not recommend them enough and we are already looking at coming back to hopefully book the glacier lagoon trip soon. Thank you to Siggi for another amazing trip!

They say "fortune favors the bold" and that was certainly true in this case. I arrived in Iceland on April 2, just as a major solar storm was hitting the earth. Unfortunately, it was largely overcast - but I was lucky because I had booked a tour with Arctic Shots. I got an e-mail saying that the tour was on that night, but that we might have to go farther afield to look for gaps in the clouds, and was I OK with a late night? Yes!

Bragi picked me up promptly, and I was surprised to discover there was only one other person on the tour. Both Siggi and Oli had the night off, but joined us anyway in a second car because the aurora forecast was so strong. Aurora hunting must be a bit like an addition! We headed off to a spot on the peninsula across from Reykjavik, and could see the northern lights even before the sunset was over. Unfortunately, the clouds kept overtaking us. We set up briefly and got a few good shots at the first site, and then the clouds rolled in, just as a bunch of tour buses from one of the other companies appeared! I felt sad for the other people, because they had missed the brief show.

Off we went again, and we stopped several more times to check the sky and look for holes in the clouds. We occasionally saw the buses, but usually as we were pulling out, and then they all disappeared back to town.

We ended up in a farm field overlooking a river at one point and saw brief lights through some holes in the clouds. Siggi and Oli were in a different spot, and would call and confer with Bragi about where to go. We all eventually ended up together near a river with a metal frame bridge, and then, quite dramatically, around 1:30AM, the clouds broke, the sky opened up and the whole expanse of sky was filled with lights. One of the most incredible things I've ever seen. It was magical!

I can't help thinking that all those people on the buses missed that because they booked on the wrong tour. Bragi went out of his way to find the open spots, and because of his persistence, we got the show of a lifetime. They can't guarantee you will see lights, but I am certain that I got a better show than almost everyone else out that night. We saw them because the guys knew where to go and where to look.

What everyone else has said is true - they are professionals with photography and are helpful in getting the camera settings right. I had my wife's camera, and had no idea how to change the settings, and just handed the camera to Bragi, who set it up for me. My photos turned out well, and I'm so pleased with them! He also sent copies of his, which are even more amazing. There was hot chocolate or tea in the van, and foot/hand warmers (even though it wasn't that cold when we were out, my feet got cold standing on the cold ground). Great communication and very professional all around.

The conversations in the car about life in Iceland were interesting and I really enjoyed my time. I often get car sick, but they let me sit in the front and I was so distracted by the conversation that I didn't have any trouble.

We finally headed back to Reykjavik around 3AM, and I got back to my hotel shortly after 4am. I still don't know exactly where we were, but I do know I was in the right place at the right time with the right tour.

HIGHLY recommended.

This was our second attempt, we had gone out the other night with another tour and it's a long night when u don't see anything!
Our guide Siggi picked us up in his jeep so only 4 people, tour is more expensive than bus or mini bus tours but was worth the money! Siggi is a professional photographer so knows the Camara settings you need and helps you set up ... He has been chasing the lights since 2009 so lots of experience, ask to see his photos on his phone! We stopped of at the northern lights museum first then we were off...
Going to be honest at 1am in the morning, we were heading back to Reykjavik so thought our luck was out.... However, determined Siggi suggested to try one last site before home...last stop and we saw them... Magical!
Most bus tours you take would have been home by then, Siggi was prepared to stay as late as we wanted.. Fun guy, educational and well worth the money... You have to try
(p.s wrap up warm... It's a waiting game!)

Seeing the Northern Lights has always been on my bucket list and I really wanted to make sure I had the best possible way to see them. I came upon Arctic Shots through Siggi's amazing photos on Instagram and I just knew these guys were the real deal. I loved that they offered small groups (I really didn't want to go on a packed tour bus) plus I wanted to expand my photography skills--I'm pretty much a newbie. I just upgraded my camera from a simple point-and-shoot to a new mirrorless camera. Bragi was my guide/tutor and helped me with my camera settings and shared his photography knowledge. He was friendly and patient and let me borrow his heavy-duty tripod (I bought a compact travel tripod, but those things can't compete in the crazy windy weather). The forecast wasn't looking too great that night--it was very cloudy and rainy at times--and I was so happy that Bragi said let's just go for it. After a short stop at the Northern Lights Center to learn about how they form, we went to a few locations, but no dice. Finally, at the last stop, I finally got my lights! They didn't appear how I thought they would because of all the heavy clouds, but you could see these forms moving in crazy directions and spiking. However, with the right settings, the lights showed up on my camera. It was so unreal, I could have stood outside for hours taking photos. And since it was just me, I got plenty of hot chocolate. At one point, I saw a really dark arc in the sky and asked "Is that a rainbow?" Apparently it's a super rare thing and so not only did I get the Northern Lights but also a moonbow! I feel incredibly lucky to see both these natural events. I lucked out a few more times later in the trip and was actually able to see the full-on dancing green lights when the weather was much more clearer. Bragi was really nice and even helped me tone my photos once I returned from my trip. If you want to see the Northern Lights, trust these guys and get ready for an unforgettable adventure.

Thanks Gail, yes it was a bit windy and it was very rare to see the "moonbow", hope you could use some of the photography tips later on on your trip :) Bragi

I contacted Bragi, the owner of Arctic Shots via the internet to set up a very quick photographic experience in Iceland. He could not have been more helpful. He kindly collected me at my hotel and we spent a day touring local spots near Reykjavik - suitable for the photography project I had in mind. He was knowledgeable about the local environment and knew some terrific spots for us to visit and I came away with some amazing images. There is a fee for the service but it is quite reasonable.
I would highly recommend using Arctic Shots if you are lucky enough to get to Iceland.
