One of the strongest and most active geyser, I got to enjoy it every few minutes! It was very slippery and icy to walk around but just get geared up and you are fine. It's free of charge too!

Lots of tourists as expected, easy place to find. Free parking and a short walk to the Geysirs from the car park. You don`t need to wait for long between two "bumm" so it is very convenient. There is a free toilet, restaurant and souvenir...More

Not many of these around, so definitely worth a visit. Shops/restaurant and parking across the road makes it convenient.

Geyser eruption is repeating. Powerful and amazing! You can catch the best moment for photo or movie shooting. Then just enjoy by watching. Receive flying spray! (Make sure your equipment is in safe place) Change location and observe Geyser from a different angle. The visitor...More

One of the classic Icelandic sights and it doesn't disappoint. Its well worth lingering around and tuning into the pfff! whoosh! hiss! rythmn of the place. We also liked the view from the top of the hill behind the site. We camped at the campsite...More

We have seen the geysir before in warmer months, it’s a different beast totally in winter, huge spray of warm air turn to vapour and float away, all very surreal! Great little place to stop off for an hour, in the summer you can take...More

Strokkur delivers what you expect from a geyser, and does so every few minutes so you will not have to wait too long. One tip if you go in the winter: stay at the North Shore. The sun may add red and golden hues to...More

You can not go to Iceland with out a trip here, its about 45 minutes drive out from Reyjavik and nestled in some of the most dramatic landscape I have seen. There are plenty of small bubbling rock pools, pouring steam and sulphur that runs...More

Hi, Strokkur is the geysir. It's also close to Gullfoss Falls (10-15 min drive). We stayed at the geysir hotel which is right across the road. Hope that helps!

There is no gate to close, it's an open park area so you can go 24/7, however there are also no lights either, so your best option is to go during daylight or sunset. Once it's dark it can be a little dangerous as the park... More
