What a delightful tour that was truly catered to our desires. As a private shore excursion for our short port day- 7 am to 3:30 pm, 4 couples whom had not met before the cruise joined together on this tour. The full day tour took longer than we had so it was suggested we pack lunch or buy take away at one of the stops instead of a sit down lunch. Our owner operator guide was exceptional with lots of great stores that covered history, modern Iceland living, thermal energy, local waterfall lore to name a few. Our stops were catered to our group dynamics and adjusted accordingly. We had a great day and highly recommend No.17 tours.

Lake Myvatn Tour
We called the day before to verify pickup time. Our tour guide (Auðun) informed us there may be trouble getting to the Dettifoss because of roads being closed. Alarmed by this our expectations were deflated, however it turned out to be a wonderful time. We were picked up at the airport bags and all and for the next 6 hours had a most enjoyable time. The attention to our needs especially the ICE spikes was unexpected and made us feel cared for. Auðun knowledge of the area provided us with so much understanding of Iceland. I would recommend this tour without hesitation big thumbs up.

This review comes in at almost 2 years late. Many apologies because Audun and Rikky of No17 are a class act. Our experience, having Audun navigate our Christmas holiday of 2019, was nothing less than amazing! Our tour was not only tailored exactly to our requests but further enhanced by Audun's knowledge, good nature and wholesome Akureyri-style welcoming.
We arrived December 23, and spent most of December 24 touring all that the Northern Iceland Capital and it's surroundings have to offer. So many stops, so many sights, only to finish our day spending time with our guide and his family, which was an exceptional treat for travelling during Iceland's greatest Holiday. We felt like family celebrating Christmas abroad.
I completely recommend No17. I would give them ten stars if available. We will be rebooking for our next trip to the north!

We can't say enough good things about Rikky and Audun (no17). They were excellent to work with and saved the day!!! The roads turned a little slippery, and we did not feel comfortable driving the highland roads. We called and asked them to help us drive to our destination. They did not hesitate to help us!!
Along the way, Rikky gave us an informative tour. Instead of stressing about the roads, we were able to enjoy the ride and take pictures along the way. We had such a wonderful time laughing, learning about Iceland, and taking in the views!!! We can't thank you enough for helping us out!!

Did the Diamond Circle shore excursion with Audun, a fantastic driver/guide, he took us to all the beautiful places in a very unusual snowed (in June!!!) foggy day. Beautiful tour, did stops anywhere you want, then back to the ship on time… I absolutely Recommend this company! Thanks Audun, you made our visit to Akureyri an unforgettable one.

We met our tour at the dock after leaving our ship. We were a group of retired couples looking to see as much of Iceland in the short time our ship was in port. Adun gave us a short tour around Akureyi and we drove outside of town stopping at a beautiful overlook of the town and harbor. It was Adun's home and appreciated that opportunity. We continued touring the valley viewing beautiful falls and landscape. We enjoyed stopping and getting up close to the grazing sheep and continued with a stop at old soddie homes. We were extremely pleased with our tour and enjoyed our visit to Northern Iceland. We would definitely recommend Taxi 17 who were very responsible, punctual, and professional.

Be very cautious with their correspondence, I would use other tour provider as these people are not trustworthy nor reliable. At the very least, they are very disorganized and have very poor communication skills. Taxi No 17 did not honor my booking confirmation and cancelled my booking without notice. They told me that I didnt need to place a deposit to secure my booking because they trust me. Yet, they cancelled me without notice. This is definitely not what I expect from any tour company but it is especially unacceptable from Taxi No 17, a company that I had booked a private tour solely for my family. There were only the three of us yet we were willing to pay the steep price for the entire tour of our own because of our special needs. We had expected a personal and up close attention to our needs. Instead, what we got shows a completely disorganized organization and a messy operation especially in booking and correspondence.
First, I had a confirmed booking via email for Lake Myvatn 7 hour tour about a week prior to agreed upon tour date. Then, I had a question about arranging for a hotel so they know for sure where to drop me off after the trip, in case they want to charge me differently. They didn't reply to me for several days. So I tried to call, but they were out of reach. I resent them my question. This time they replied apologizing for not replying because they went on vacation without access to correspondence. That should have raised my eyebrow but I got their reply when I got on my plane to Iceland from New York so I have no time for changing my itinerary or switch provider. A day before the tour I sent them an email to ask if it is possible to leave early so we can spend more time at nature bath. To my horror, I could not believe that they told me they are fully booked with other people and I didn't have a confirmed booking. I immediately replied and showed them previous email correspondence with their confirmation as follows,
Of course everything sounded very nice in their confirmation
Thank you for your booking...
> You just confirm your booking in e-mail to us, and we reconfirming to you.
> We have a rule in our company, ,, if you trust us, we will trust you,, so you just pay at day of the tour.
then the day before my trip, this was what they stated in their email, as if they never confirmed my booking.
We are very sorry to tell you, but we have not heard from you last 4 days so we think you have decided to cancel the tour with us.
So now we have booked all our cars for that day August 22nd 2016
Like I said this was an especially upsetting experience for me particularly because I was traveling with my autistic son. That is the main reason for me to arrange for a private tour, we dont want to be a burden to 20-40 other people in a tour bus because my son has physical challenges. Besides we thought with private tours we would be able to do the tour at our own pace with special attention to our needs. I had everything already planned out in our itinerary and I dont have a room for last minute cancellation without notice like this. I wish I could give them a rating of 0 for making my supposedly trip of a lifetime to Iceland, a big disappointment for their level of service, and their poorly manage operation. I would stay away from them.

Our group of eight was treated to such a wonderful look at the off-the-beaten path Iceland. We visited three very distinct and very uncrowded waterfalls. This was ideal because some of us had been to Iceland before and some had not. When I booked this trip I had no idea how far into the country we would be going and what a variety of scenery we would encounter.
When a person (me) is responsible for booking an excursion for seven others, there is a bit of anxiety that it will all come off okay. Our wonderful driver, Rikki, took very good care of us. She was informative and humorous. Our group spanned an age range of 16 to 80 and everyone gave ME a thumbs up when we were finished. It was Rikki and the beauty of Iceland that deserved the accolades. SHE WAS THE BEST!
By the way: the photos on the website of the waterfalls were spot on! I highly recommend this tour. At one of the waterfalls we were the ONLY people there...on a mild summer Sunday during peak season! You've got to LOVE this place. Thanks for making it such a memorable day, Rikki. There is so much more to Iceland than just Reykjavik and the Golden Circle / Blue Lagoon tours. We just returned from a week in Iceland that included 2 days/nights in the northern town of Akureyri. Never having been to northern Iceland we were unsure of what we should see. I used Trip Advisor to find some private tours and we came up with the Siglufjodour tour with Audun Benediktsson that turned out to be the highlight of entire time in Iceland. The communication with Audun before we even let Canada was excellent. He returned every email and answered every question quickly. Audun arrived at our hotel right on time and his vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, was immaculate, both inside and out. Audun is fluent in English and he is incredibly knowledgeable about the entire north of Iceland. We left the tour in Auduns’ hands and he took us everywhere. He even planned a surprise for us where we visited a friend of his who owns a fish processing plant. There we got to see the process as well as taste a piece of Greenland shark. His friend also owns a number of Icelandic horses which they took us to visit. The horses are incredibly gentle, like big Golden Retrievers. To cut it short the tour was far better than we expected , Audun was fantastic and when we go back in a year or two we will book more tours with him. All in all an incredible experience.

We started contact Audun on Feb during our planning to Akureyri. We would like to joint a private tour to Mývatn in Oct. Since this was our first time to Akureyri, we wanted to visit all the scenic spots without any of missing. So we listed out lot of places to Audun. (Actually we did not have idea for how far between them and it was possible to have them at the same time.) Audun prompt replied to us with a smile and advised so many places we wanted to go but it was impossible to visit all of them in Oct. The old Highland travel roads are usually closed because of the snow. Audun helped us to plan a private tour according to his experience and available of the roads. He answered our questions patiently even we sent lot of questions to him.
On 14Oct, we had our tour to Myvatn. Audun tried best to have as many as scenic spots to us. So we had no missing of any valuable sights. Audun is highly knowledgeable and historical events about the sights. During our back to Akureyri, we met the aurora. Audun stopped the vehicle and let us to enjoy it for over 45 min. How wonderful the tour we had.
Audun is a gentle and sincere guide. Sure he can provide a professional guidance tour to you. So we would like highly recommending Tax no. 17 to others.

We are a small group of couples that would like to book a tour on June 13, 2018. Another group has already booked with you but we hope you have an additional tour car and guide available. We will be on the Pacific Princess arriving at 7 PM (probably off the ship by 8 AM) and the ship leaves port at 4 PM so we'd need to be back around 3:30 pm at the latest. What have you available for us and we're open to whatever you have to offer us in the way of local sites, including lunch? Thanks for your response.

There are 5 of us arriving by cruise ship on Sept 5th and are looking for a tour that would include The Godafoss Waterfall, Lake Myvatn, Dimmuborgir and drive around Akureyri. Can that be arranged not knowing the distance between things. How long would that take and the cost per person. We arrive at 7am and would expect to get off the ship until 8:30 or 9 am. We would need to return no later than 4 pm. Thank you, Karon
