Quite a surprise - two completely different era under the same roof, on the other side an old-fashioned library, with its beautiful artistic traits and at the other end modern building.

The main library in Turku is a beautiful example of modern architectur in an old town. The library is big, spacious and very stylish. There are own places for children and for people who want to read magazines in peace. The library is very popular and it is like a cosy livingroom for citypeople and tourists.

This is clearly a favourite among the locals. There are lots of little nooks where one can snuggle up with a book (try for example the music library upstairs in the old side) and a lovely cafe. I love how the modern part of the library blends with the old library building - I recommend a walk through the whole... More

A beautiful building with a stylish interior and great facilities like free wifi, computers, lockers and good toilets. Cafe has a nice terrace on the courtyard and there's even a bike rental service.

The children's area of the library is beautifully set up. There are quiet, whimsical spaces for children and youth to read. There is also a small play area for the youngest children with a few toys. The library has an excellent selection of books in Finnish and Swedish (of course), but it also has a very good selection of English... More

Today I visited the music library. The amount of records, both cd's and vinyls is overwhelming. It is situated in the old part of the library where I used to go often as a child. I like as much the new part. The building itself is so beautiful and there is so much to do inside.

It is large, modern, and full with stuff and people. You can spend an evening there reading a book, catching up with then news, and my favorite spot, the music room. Lots of cd's that you can bring home and listen to.

Turku city library is good place to hang out if you dont know what to do. You can relax and read some book or sit by computer. There is music library aswell. Toilets are usually full of s#** and in bad condition, but free to use.
