Nice and bright place in the heart of the City

An excellent place to read, or just to sit and relax in front of the huge windows. It is good to go in, sit down and just get away from all the commerzialism in the town.

An interesting experience with an old and traditional part and a new and modern part - both of them beautiful and functional. The local people have made it to a kind of collective living room where you can use computers, read newspapers and magazines, lisetn to music, read books for children, even have small meetings. Absolutely a place worth visiting... More

The library is large and remarkably busy. One end is the older section which is currently used for music books (you can listen to vinyl on the machines there). I was impressed

A local tourism brochure that I read described this as the place that locals had made their second lounge rooms, and I thought they were exaggerating. Not so! Wandering through was a really uplifting experience. People were perched all about making use of the couches and chairs to read the newspaper and enjoy the ambience. Interesting architecture and design -... More

We were attending a conference here in Turku and were treated to a private tour of this outstanding city library. It is beautiful inside and out, and the staff is fabulous!

Great place to have a nice day with kids! Architecture is unique. Indoor you can find nice Café and a lot of room kids to play and adults to enjoy the atmosphere. You can also find something to read in many languages.

One of the oldest library in Finland and recently renovated mordern library. Nice atmosphere to spend some time with books and also just to check the place. You can enjoy both atmosphere at the same time. If you are lucky, you can get some interesting book with very cheap price.

Quite a surprise - two completely different era under the same roof, on the other side an old-fashioned library, with its beautiful artistic traits and at the other end modern building.

The main library in Turku is a beautiful example of modern architectur in an old town. The library is big, spacious and very stylish. There are own places for children and for people who want to read magazines in peace. The library is very popular and it is like a cosy livingroom for citypeople and tourists.
