One of the top sights in Finland. Excellent exhibits, interesting and well guided medieval tour, staff dressed in period costumes, lots of activities for kids and a fine shop. I'd say a must if you visit Turku.

By the end of touring the castle you will have a nice overview of Finnish history. The castle is mostly restored from ruins caused during the 2nd WW so don't expect too much original detail and contents.

Very interesting visit featuring well crafted modelling of the castle and a dedicated space for children to get dressed in a medieval way!

We were in Turku just one day in September. First we went to turku castle. It was huge. It has so many different types of historical things. So you need to at least 4 hours to see all parts. We were so tired at the end because we have no idea how big is it. So I suggest to sit... More

History from 13th century onwards, full tour on castle, changing exhibitions. If it was good for Kings of Sweden, maybe for you too?

Old castles can be so boring - however not this one! Interesting architecture and really good at explaining Finland's Swedish past. A great place to spend a couple of hours waiting for the boat to leave for Stockholm.

If in Turku you need to add this to your things to do. This castle, while seemly small on the outside is absolutely huge on the inside. Restoration has been very good to bring it back to its former glory. Lots of history.

Turku Castle looks small from outside, but once you get in, you realize that its size is pretty good. Going from one room to another to discover great pieces of Finnish history is exciting and some places will amaze you with their grandeur. A historical adventure worth taken!
