Collection of old clothes, dishes and tools is amazing. Some of them are more than hundreds of years old

Turku is the capital of Finland during the time when Finland is ruled by kings and queens. The castle is a reminder of Finland's diverse history. Although the castle's exterior is not what most people expect (I mean, the "fairy tale" castle), it is still full of artifacts and interesting displays which reflect the life of its inhabitants. Visitors can... More

Castle is enormous so put aside half a day! Most of the very detailed descriptions in rooms were also in English which was a bonus as we are tourists. Great exhibits throughout and so much information you won't know what to do with yourself. Beautiful castle!

Really old place in good condition. Had a friends wedding in this last summer and it was something to remember. Try it out!

Fantastic, authentic medieval castle to explore. Extremely large castle so allow plenty of time. Something for everyone including children with a dress up room. Kids can dress up from knights in o royalty, lots of fun. Museum sometimes has visiting exhibitions which adds to the trip. Definitely worthwhile. Guided tours are also available in multiple languages.

This castle is just so big - if I have anything negative to say about it, it is that you could probably stay all day here and still not see everything! But that means there's something for everyone - the kids can appreciate the castle as a whole and some of the smaller exhibits along the way will cater to... More

This kid friendly atmospheric castle is an good example of (better) life in Finland under Swedish Crown. It's not any shining palace but tells slightly realistic story of the rough living conditions in Medieval Finland.

Turku Castle is an awesome structure which gives one a glimpse of rich Finnish history. An imposing structure that leaves one awestruck, I will surely visit it again in my lifetime.

One of the top sights in Finland. Excellent exhibits, interesting and well guided medieval tour, staff dressed in period costumes, lots of activities for kids and a fine shop. I'd say a must if you visit Turku.

By the end of touring the castle you will have a nice overview of Finnish history. The castle is mostly restored from ruins caused during the 2nd WW so don't expect too much original detail and contents.
