Old Rauma is the best reason to visit this area even in winter. The shops leaned towards lifestyle, crafts, & clothing with several good cafes & antiques. Everything closes at 2 pm on Saturday & nothing is open on Sunday which is too bad for a short stay. Stop by the open air farmers' market in the square & the... More

There are plenty of 'old towns' on the Bothnian Coast with the same 'quaint' painted wooden houses, still being lived in and some prettier - for example, parts of the Jakobstad.

Beautiful place when snow has fallen upon the town and Christmas lights are on! In summer time, it is very nice to walk late on the streets and explore, when it's warm.

Rauma is a little but lovely city. I really like it. I have been there with friend on a saturday. Unfortunatly all the shops and cafè close very early during the weekend. But is so nice to see a typical Finland city and it saw typical colorful houses.

There was a nice cafe and some nice small shops. We had bad weather but in sunny day this would have been a really nice place to walk.It was allowed to drive in the old town streets for my disappointment so taking good photos was difficult.

The houses are of a more ornate design than seen in other "Old Towns" in Finland. But it is a bit commercial with plenty of shops for those into that. We were there on a wet day so maybe not seen at its best.

A nice place to walk around, eat and drink. We visited as a group from a building restauration school and there was a lot to see. We ate at a nice Italian style restaurant at the big market square, very nice! Could easily spend a day just hanging around and wondering. Also tjere is some b'n'bs here, conventional and Airbnb.

On a visit to see my gfs place of birth. Interresting old town! The front is a little to polished and there are to many branded stores. I recommend taking a walk in the yards behind the streets.

We stopped here for a break on a road-trip through Finland and found it to be a stunning place - especially on a beautiful sunny day with the vibrant colours singing against the blue sky. It is well signed and there is a free car park. This enclave of old houses offers plenty to do from exploring the side streets... More

We did a short tour before returning to Helsinki for a congress, and plan Rauma for 2 days, not knowing we will be there during the festival.,an unforgettable 'bonus' There were so many things te look at and...
