One of the great advantages of having a friend in Helsinki is you get to discover the best of the city with minimal effort. That was the feeling when we hit Stadin Panimo. We had already tried a couple of their beers... but nothing on tap.
The tiny pub was packed, with the overflow crowd at tables outside - and mostly wrapped in blankets. (A common convenience at Helsinki establishments in the spring.) But we found a few seats inside and began our craft beer journey.
Stadin brews some very good beers - including a "New England IPA" that knocked my (a native New Englander) socks off.
Seating is limited, but you'll soon make friends with your neighbors. Stadin is well worth a visit for anyone who appreciates good beer.

very nice place with passionate personnel and a very nice, if not fantastic selection of their own, regional and international beers + you can buy their beers. Cosy atmosphere, great place to try a lot of beers.

Stadin Panimo is a local craft brewery in Suvilahti. Due to the near by massive construction site I struggled to find the place-if you’re new to the area suggest you find out the best route in advance. Good selection of beers, noticed they had IPA from the other side of the globe, New Zealand that is. I didn’t take brewery tour during this visit. Cool atmosphere and friendly service.

I visited with 2 mates and found the armosphere very friendly. Nice seatingn area set up for good conversations.

Came here with the guy who did the review below, and agree 100% with what he had to say. The staff at the bar, as well as the brewers were very knowledgeable and approachable, keen to help you choose the right beer. Worth adding that this place is tucked away out of the centre of the city, but very reachable from both the centre and outskirts due to its proximity to a metro station.

Visited in August 2017. Cycled out from our campsite and arrived early at 2pm though the bar doesn't open until 3.30pm which we'd not realised. We were given a couple of samples whilst we waited for them to open which was a great touch by the staff. We met the brewers who were very knowledgeable and keen to tell us about the beers. We stayed a while and had 3 or 4 different ones. The drinks aren't cheap but nowhere in Helsinki is. Very close to the metro station although we opted for the wobbly cycle home! Thoroughly recommend this place.

It is little bit hard to find, but keep walking. Place is really nice and there is beer for every tast. In summer time, there is also a terrace outside.

Hidden in the cultish district of Suvilahti this small friendly bar offers a wide range of delicious beers. Some are in deed more expensive than industrially produced supermarket beers, but they are well worth it. The place is quite small but very cosy.

But don't let the location fool you. Hidden away in an old industrial area this little bar serves their own beer, accompanied by nuts and tapas. Well worth a visit, to see another part of the city.
