There ain't nothing special at this small square. The statue standing there is not spectacular at all, but this is a good place to rendezvous with your friends. Easily accessible by tram. The sidewalk bar of Hard Rock Cafe adds some enticement to stop here for a while.

In summer you can buy ice cream here and there are some open air cafes as well. Walk along the Aleksanterinkatu, the main road from Stockmann towards the Senate Square and you will find the basic chain shops (like H&M and Zara). Pop into Stockmann department store as well.

This is a junction between Mannerheimintie and Aleksanterinkatu that has the statue of the three smiths (the naked blacksmiths forging an anvil) There is nothing else of significant here, except it's a good location to meet up with friends as several trams cross this point.

It can't be missed with its statue of the smiths. It's in a good central position near Stockmann and in the centre of everything. Kiosks and cafes nearby and some fruit stalls in the summer just along Mannerheimintie. It's not a "must go and see" but anyone exploring Helsinki will certainly walk past it at least once. The three Blacksmiths statue was designed by Felix Nylund and mounted in 1932. and still bears the marks of bombings during 1944. The pedestal and the statues bear marks of shrapnell.

Not much of a sight actually, only a statue of Three Smiths, but a popular meeting point with tourists and locals alike.
