A huge cemetery near the sea. Not many monumental graves, but it is quite peaceful and atmosperic because of the many trees and lawns. Interesting for history lovers and visitors of old cemeteries.

This is a beautiful cemetery. I went to see Mannerheim's grave but the whole experience was one of beauty, peace, flowers, trees, tasteful monuments and respect. If cemeteries are your thing, go an enjoy.

Thus cemetery is awesome! A friend who lived in Helsinki told me about this cemetery and I'm so glad she did! It is so peaceful and artistic. You can't help but admire the beautiful craftsmanship of the graves and fauna growing out of the grave sites. Not to mention you can walk along the water with a picturesque view of... More

Having just returned from our trip to Helsinki and having visited this beautiful Cemetary I must say it is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever visited. The well kept gardens and burial grounds are a pleasure to wonder through.

This is an oasis close to city center: a nice and calm place to have relaxing walk. Make sure to check the different parts/sections. There is also popular path following the shoreline at the south and west parts of the cementery: a nice stretch to include to your jogging tour.

This cemetery park, as many cemeteries around the world, provide a unique glimpse into the past as you stroll past graves and read the inscriptions on the... More

This is the main cemetery of Helsinki. The area is by the sea and it is quite large. It a brisk walk from the center but one can easily reach it by public transport. It is very peaceful area to walk around and some of the memorials are very beautiful. Many famous Finnish artists are buried here.
