We spent a couple of hours walking around Kaivopuisto on a gorgeous summer day in June. The park is large with many spots that offer wonderful views of Suomennlina islands and the boat harbors. The ice cream was delicious and there are many places to sit down and relax or to enjoy a bite to eat.

My girlfriend loved the sunset and was really happy about having been there and watching the clouds changing the color from sunny yellow to dark purple. The sunset is lasting long so take time, a blanket, food and drinks with you! More local people than tourists.

We stopped here briefly to relax and eat the delicious strawberry that we bought from the local market before returning to the cruise-ship. This is a stop on the hop-on, hop-off bus which is a very nice way to see things around this beautiful city.

This is such a lovely part of Helsinki with so much green space and right next to the sea. We really enjoyed strolling along the adjoining boardwalk with ice cream from Helsingin Jäätelötehdas.

Large, flanked on three sides by water, this park sites at the southern end of the old town. It is best enjoyed on a warm day, as there is little to protect the visitor from any gust of wind or rain squall. there is a low hill (where the local astronomy club build a small dome for stargazers) which allows... Helsinki has a beautiful walking path on the waterfront and one can walk from the city centre to Kaivopuisto. It may take around 30 minutes, depending on normal walking speeds. You can also hop on a tram from the city centre. Kaivopuisto is a popular location for many events, group activities and becomes a major hub for May 1st Vappu... More

Start from Kauppatori seaside as long as you can see sea! So relaxing. On beautiful days you will not be alone there - a real gem of Helsinki! Enjoy!
