The time we visited the place was closed for renovation. But we could see from outside and of course take pictures of the flying finn.

We wasted our time stopping here because it has been closed since 2015 under renovation. Reopening in 2019. We did feel some nostalgia looking at the olympic rings and the statue of the flying finn.

As others have mentioned, the Helsinki Olympic Stadium is closed through at least 2019. So do not expect the same spectacular tours that you would get in Berlin or Melbourne. However, if you are an Olympic Stadium buff like I am, it is worth a look. Sitting on the NNW of the main part of the City, you can get... More

A time capsule of design interrupted by the war. Ready for the games of 1940 Finland had to wait until 1952 to showcase to the world. The stadium is currently undergoing a major upgrade and access is very limited.

Why our tour group stopped here is a mystery. It's closed and will be for quite some time! Not able to get a close to it for pictures. Skip it all together!

It was very disappointing to find the Stadium and Tower closed for a long refurbishment and the area a building site. There is some value in walking slowly through the surrounding park and seeing the Paavo Nurmi statue. Major tram routes to the north and west of the park make it easy to visit. Full re-opening is not until 2019.

Olympic Stadium is a place where I saw One Direction, Isac Elliot and McBusted. I queued 9 hours to be in front row with my friends at section 2. I had so much fun during the concert, I recommend this stadium to everyone. Security guards were slightly rude though, but it wasn't a problem to me.

Hard to believe that this is over 50 years old. It's well maintained and a stop on the popular city bus tours.

The stadium was built for the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. It has been renovated a couple of times since and is currently be renovated again. Worth a visit.
