A must is to go up the look out tower here at night. A small tower but amazing views over the city. Go here!

Opened in 1938, this stadium host the 1952 Summer Olympics other then the World Athletics Championship in 1983 and 2005 and also being the home ground for the Finnish National football ( soccer) team.

Sadly this iconic stadium is closed and there is no access to the wonderful tower while the whole place is undergoing renovation. Not a criticism by any means and you can still admire it from the outside, but just a warning for any fellow travellers wanting to see this place which has such a rich and interesting history.

Many years have passed by from the Olympic Games here in Helsinki, but the Stadium, as well as the rest of the Olympic complex, looks very well conserved and actual in its architectural concept. It deserves a visit

The old stadium were in very bad shape. Now its under renovation and I'm anxious to see the new stadium when the renovation is finished.

It is convenient to get to by train and is located right next to the new HJK soccer stadium. The Olympic stadium was an average stadium that was under renovation in Nov. 2016.

Well, there is nor much to say really. The Olympic Stadium Of Helsinki is under reconstruction. However, noone bothers to tell on homepages that's the fact. So after having bought tickets for the Metro and busses we arrived to a closed stadium

We were surprised to see the Olympic Statium and other structures were closed for about a year for renovations. So do not waste your time unless you just want to walk around the grounds.

I visited last year before the Stadium and Tower were closed for renovation. On the first day I arrived very early in the morning (the tower opens well before most museums), but that day the tower was closed for security reasons because of a football match in the evening (Finland vs. Northern Ireland). So I had to come back the... More
