Another lousy stop on the Red Bus. Could hardly see it from the street. Not worth the time. Think twice about the Red Bus tour in Helsinki. We spent most of our time downtown at the market eating reindeer and moose sausages.

As this is included in driving by on most tours, this is how we viewed it. As well famous fin athlete statues are outside and we were told of their fame. Interesting.

Really, this one I would entirely skip. You can't even get that close to the stadium unless you walk from your tourist bus. Not near downtown either.

This iconic building will unfortunately be under total reconstruction till 2019. You can take a glimpse of it over the walls, but also the sight seeing tower is now closed. The swimming stadion is on the hill beside it and also represents elegant Finnish architecture. Walking northwards you can cross over to Keskuspuisto by the modern Aurora walkway.

a delightful city, with many old buildings and museums. the stadium was looking a bit old, but still interesting. quite a view when you drive up the hills.

Take the elevator to go up to the tower on the stadium. The views from there are quite good, and it did not cost that much. The area in the tower is quite small so not too many people fit there at once.

We only viewed the stadium from the outside and it appeared very dated, but it's always good to see the Olympic rings. There is a pleasant park opposite and a couple of statues of successful local Olympians.

It was establish in 1938, but olympic game from 1940 had been move to 1952. Very important place for runner from former Czechoslovakia - Emil Zatopek winner of three gold medals. Statue of other famous runner from Finland - Paavo Nurmi standing in front of olympic stadium.

Close enough to the city to be able to walk (30mins) through a lovely park and near a lake. But what a disappointment when I got there. It was closed (hopefully for renovation) and in the middle of a car park. Still has the Olympic rings from 1952 but now on a sad building.
