Great selection of books, genres and it was very tidy and well organized. The moomin - section even had a huge moomin - wall, so that was particularly easy to spot 😊

Extensive collection. THE place to catch-up on titles from outside the US! Has their own delightful cafe and a Starbucks.

This is a building by Alvar Aalto. If you are not an architecture buff, this place is just a bookstore for you. Changes are currently (May 2016) taking place. The building will remain the same (it's protected).

The best bookstore in Helsinki. Widest scope, lots of foreign books and also a good selection of comics.

The bookstore in central Helsinki was famous for two things, being the best bookstore in the Nordic countries, and the architecture. Well the house is still there, and mostly books, even if Starbucks is now occupying a corner. And yes you will find books too, the original café at the second floor is more too my liking, if you want... More

This is the best bookstore in Finland and probably the best in northern Europe. Apart from finnish literature they have also a large selection of swedish and english literature. The interior is very nice, the building is from 1969 by the architect Alvar Aalto.

I always come here when I'm in Helsinki, and I always come across interesting titles I hadn't been aware of. There's an excellent selection of literature in Finnish, Swedish and English, as well as a café on the first floor. Highly recommended.

The building is a project of Alvar Aalto and, inside its façade of pure lines, has three very ample floors, two of which dedicated mostly to books. The first impression when I entered was very agreeable, but the fact is that the selection of books is poor for the quality of the space. A true disappointment, considering that the fondness...
