Get ready to stand in line

Suomenlinna is one of the best places in Finland to catch Pokemon so the ferries are packed. We stood in line for the total of 2 hours but it was worth it.

If you are in Helsinki, this is the main thing to do; "Visit The Fortress of Suomenlinna" (the other main thing being visiting the Temppeliaukio Church) The ferry price is included in the day pass. The ferries come every 15 minutes and be prepared for at least 3 hours there but you can easily spend the entire day if you... More

This is a great place to getaway from the hustle and bustle of town. While there were many other visitors to Suomenlinna, the place was open enough to not feel that there was too much of a crowd. I love the fact that it was nice and open and such a refreshing place to visit.

Fortress is one of the places you should visit if you have kids. History is right under your feet. Island is still alive with people going to school, work, get marry etc. It's just amazing place to visit.

Apart from the cost of the ferry, Suomenlinna is free to wander around on. Make sure to get a 2-day or 3-day ticket for the metro and tram, because this includes the city-operated ferries to Suomenlinna as well. The islands, connected by bridges, offer lots of beatiful places to discover. There is a supermarket directly by the docks, which is... More

It is at 20 minutes by boat from the Helsinki harbour. The short trip in itself is already a beautyful track, if the weather is sunny. The island has a few museums, and a couple of bars and restaurants. Or you can make a picnic as well. It's in fact a big green park with old walls and some 18th... More

Save this gem for a sunny day and plan for at least 3-hours. Take the ferry, which is free with the Helsinki Card and is a relatively quick ride. Upon arrival, stop at the visitor center, pick up a map, brochures and check out the informative video. They offer tours in English but avoid unless you're a big history buff.... More

Back 2 nature again. As Many Helsinki inhabitants. We also went To Suomenlinna Lippu. Now by local Mass transit Ferry. Great To walk around again. Compared To the last visit it Was very crowded due do Sunday but this crowd also makes it a special local thing.

The island is a short boat trip from the market square in Helsinki. Leave your self time to look around the market itself! The island is quiet with many intersted features and we had a lovely lunch in Chapmans restaurant which I recommend
