If you are interested in a true Marketplace of Helsinki, then this is a must see! The landmark building is incredibly interesting and inside is a plethora of everything you could ever need. There is a café and a few coffee shops along with meat markets, fish markets, vegetables, cheese and fruit markets. A very good interaction with Helsinki culture!

Very friendly activity that I recommend for souvenirs and eating outdoor...even during the winter. Excellent to find berries, salmon, mushrooms...and more from the Finnish culinary experience

Nothing special. Go, instead, to the old market, near the harbour. If you are passing by, you can definitely have a look.

The market Place is not worth a detour, but it's absolutely worth a visit if you're nearby. Hakaniemi is not as touristic as the main market and it's also much smaller. Here you can find all the vegatables, fruits and berries you need. There's also a couple of restaurant/café tents with both in- as well as outdoor seating. Most of... More

As I enjoy walking around in market halls Hakaniemi market was the first to visit for me. In the groundfloor you will find all kinds of food, even some bakeries! The food sold here is said to be of the best quality in Helsinki! On the first ground you will find all kinds of items and souvenirs, even a marimekko-shop... More

For any traveller to Helsinki who seeks bargain souvenir, this market hall - famous with locals and of historical interest - should be a target wherein to find that desired gift or typically Finnish handicraft item. Not only does it provide the usual wooden and woollen items but it also offers good quality food and snacks for those who require... More
