When coming to Helsinki one should visit also Hakaniemi market place and 100 years old Market hall (located on the corner of the market place). Here you find fish and vetables, flowers and wickery products and souveniers. One should visit also the Market hall. There you find small shops and restaurants and coffee houses.

OK - lots of fruit, vegetable and flower kiosks. Mainly for locals but worth a walk through. Saw some street performers.

We cruised in to Helsinki on the Celebrity Silhoutte and decided to take the hop on hop off bus. The Hakaniemi Market was one of the stops on the route and a wonderful place to spend some time, shop, and eat some delicious street food. You could easily spend several hours shopping, eating, and enjoying beautiful Helsinki. There were many,... More

As a must - try street food - local fish and chips. Buy a deer pelt or an authentic souvenir. Take a ride to Suomenlinna by the boat.

The inside market is beautiful, with all the fish, vegetables and meat shops, and the upper flor with the wood shops (only for tourists), but it is very expensive. However, the outside market has better privmcces and is a great place for having breakfast or grab something for lunch.

There were typical tourist items for sale, but also unique items. Food vendors offered a lot of selections of entries and pastries. Try the mixed berry trays. Close to the Esplanade.

This market had everything from local home made food and ice cream, to kitschy cheap trinkets. It also has some of the finest artisans and craftspeople displaying and selling their creations. You can find anything froma fridge magnet to a reindeer hide coat, a lot of beautiful knitwear and some gorgeous jewelery. We spent quite some time and did not... More
