I have not seen a market this large and right in the city centre. Very nice and really handy for people to purchse their freish vegetable and meat daily.

Loved this outdoor market. Bought nice handmade gifts for kitchen and entertaining. Great wooden cheese boards, wooden cheese and butter knifes, stainless steel coffee measuring spoons with reindeer horn handles. Absolutely wonderful market.

As part of our Happy Guide Helsinki bike tour, we rode to the market, parked our bikes, and shopped around. There were lots of yummy looking fruit, lovely crafts, and souvenirs. It was fun and very scenic near the harbor.

This open air market is a MUST. It’s exciting, with great food from the open air vendors. Incredible big hot dogs, reindeer sausages, and crepes/pancakes with fresh fruit and ice cream. Or, try soups or cooked fish—or buy a container of fresh fruit. Then saunter...More

This is more of a market for locals than travellers, but does have a wide range of stalls if you are looking for good provisions. Nice fish, meat, dairy product and delicataessen stalls, and some very nice looking eateries for snacks or lunch there. More...More

It was a very warm and sunny day when we got to Helsinki and the market was buzzing...great atmosphere.Since its a Scandinavian country...even markets are very expensive....a small punnet of cherries cost us 7 pounds sterling! But worth a walk about along the harbour.

Right on the harbor, walking distance from every place, there is a very varied market. We loved the great offer of wonderful fruits. We ate a good, tasty fish plate. Lots of small stand of local artists. Very highly recommended.

Siutated by the harbour, the market sells all sorts of fresh local produce. There are also several food stalls selling, among other things, great local fish dishes. Great for lunch when you´re taking in the sihgts.

All this could be avoided if only TA would accept my suggestion of listing "Kauppatori" (the famous market) as "Kauppatori (Market Square)". They seem to have turned down my request for them to do so. People see the listing... More

market has about 10 stalls and that is that. You need to go to the Kauppatori Market, not this one. On the other hand, the Market Hall at Hakaniemi is better (cheaper and better quality goods and stalls) than the Vanha... More
