The Church is located a short walk from the Parliament building, between apartment blocks. Has a rather modest concrete entrance, that doesn't promise much. However don't be led down, it's definitely worth seeing. It's rough interior walls of natural stone, and it's designer roof make the church a one of a kind place. Definitely worth sitting down regardless if you're... More

A unique Lutheran church with 21km of copper lengths twisted to created an interesting ceiling to complement the rock walls

A must see when you are in Helsinki. We walked from the harbor area but it's easy to take a cab or the bus. Very interesting how it's built. You walk the street behind and have no idea what's there, it just looks like a hill in a neighborhood area. It's pretty easy to see all the major tour sights... More

Really worth to pay a visit. Love it. You feel like home and I'm not even that religious. Light a candel and soak yourself in the beautiful environment.

Hewn out of solid rock and able to seat many hundreds of worshippers this has become a major tourist attraction in Helsinki. Sadly the time allocated by tour companies demand that the bus loads of visitors scramble to get to and from their transport which makes entry and exit somewhat of a challenge. For a more relaxed and serene experience... More

This church is unlike any other I know of. It is a must see place when in Helsinki. I would recommend walking around outside as well. There aren't many churches which you can walk over the top of as well as going inside. You really need to view this one from both inside and out. No visit to Helsinki should... More

Worth a look but feels more like a quirky concert hall than a sacred place of worship. You only need to spend 5-10 minutes here and that is sufficient. Its a good 10 minutes but you'd expect more from a #2 rated attraction

A visit to the Rock Church is a special experience. First of all, there is the special the setting of the church, as it is hewn from solid rock and thus partly underground. From the outside you would not expect such an architectural marvel inside. But once you enter the place, another world lies before you. The natural setting makes... More

Loved this, the best thing I saw in Helsinki. Absolutely awesome, beautiful church. The ceiling made out of copper wire incredible.

The Rock Church is worth finding when in Helsinki. Free to enter, acoustics are beautiful. We were there for a free noon time Piano concert. Very glad we got to hear live music, completely changed the "tourist vibe". Can only imagine the choir at Christmas time!
