About
The aim of Croquis Nights is to train fast sketching by drawing live models and subsequently make animations from those sketches. We start with drawing four minute poses, increasingly shorten the drawing time and end each session with drawing thirty second poses.
Every Monday from 18 – 19h at Viipurinkatu 8, 00510, open to all, no experience required and all materials provided by us!
Duration: 1-2 hours

Nice one hour croquis session in Kallio. A very small place, so the group is kept at 5 persons max. This gives the teacher plenty of time to attend to every student. Relaxed atmosphere, excellent model.

Croquis Nights is a great place to learn and experience true croquis drawing. The sessions are kept small, which creates a relaxed atmosphere together with freshly brewn tea. Various tools and materials are provided on site, so the students don't have to bring anything for participation. During each session the teacher gives guidance and critique for those who wish to receive it, which is very rare to come by and improves the learning process by a great amount. The model poses range from four minutes to 30 seconds, which is excellent for sharpening one's observational and communicative skills. At the end of each session the student get's to keep the drawings they have done, which can be turned into animations in animation workshops held every few months.
I highly recommend anyone to try out croquis nights - you might be surprised how much is possible to communicate with a few well placed lines.

cozy studio, great atmosphere, sympathetic host - if you are into drawing, definitely a place worth checking out!

Nice and relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for de-stressing after a busy Monday or in my case a busy December!
