Nice area to have walk. Can enjoy from nature, can have picknic and relaxing walk in Nuuksio. There is 3 different length walking paths what are nicely markt. So no need to know area and you can go there. And remember to take water with you. If you like to barbeque something that is also possible there too in some... More

The park is easily accessible from the Helsinki central train station. I caught the U train at 8:27am at the main train station and got off at Espoo from I got on the 245 bus, which dropped me approximately 2 kilometres away from the entrance of the park. The trip took me 1:30mins. Buy the day public transportation ticket -... More

According to my Finnish friend, the "real" Finland is to be found in its expanses of natural beauty. Nuuksio is the perfect place to experience the country's characteristic lakes and forests and is easily accessible from Helsinki by public transportation (approx. 1.5 hours by bus or bus + train). I spent a lovely fall afternoon wandering the trails and met... More

Mountain biking is allowed on the trails of Nuuksio National Park. Trails are good and the views and nature are even better. I would recommend to anyone who loves mountain biking and nature.

A short distance northwest from Helsinki lies Nuuksio National Park. Our visit was anchored by the Haltia Nature Centre. Running from the nature center were a variety of hiking trails - we were led down one that passed by a stunning lake, some beautiful forests and clearings, and thousands of wild berries. We ended up just outside the Park at... More

A large group of us spent a wonderful late June day hiking around Nuuksio and the park was simply spectacular! We did encounter some pretty heavy rain but even that did not dampen how much we enjoyed the park. There is an amazing sauna located below the Nature Center and we were able enjoy it and a swim in the... More

Nice hike of 4 k, we took the blue trail and went up the mountain and found a lot of blue berries on the way. Lakes look idyllic, not so many mosquitos luckily. We did not swim though

Nuuksio is great place for a weekend visit from Helsinki. It is farther away from the city. Public transportation through train and bus or bus alone from the city is available but the frequency is not high. So, it would help to check out the times and plan in advance. The park is a beautiful place for picnics and hiking.... More

A friend and I went for a small hike (about 12 km) through the hiking trails of Nuuksio. The weather was excellent on the day. The hiking trails were of intermediate difficulty. We took the 85 A bus from Espoon Keskus to Kattila, reached the blue hiking trail from Kattila and reached Haukkalampi. From there we switched to the red... More
