We walked up to the top of Ruka by taking approximately 404 stairs up. It was definitely worth it. Stunning views of the surrounding nature with lakes all the way to Russia.

While great to visit in the summer and enjoy all the reindeer and summer beauty, this mountain resort is even more fabulous in the winter. Ruka mountain is friendly with red, blur and black ski runs and the resort is well staffed. There is an excellent multi lingual ski school that provides instruction to all levels of dkiers. It is... Ruka was my first skiing holiday accompanied by my expert skiing boyfriend. I was under the impression that Ruka would be great for beginners with more blue runs than red and a large green run to enjoy. However, in order to enjoy the blue or large green run; you had to use a chair lift and the green run merged... More

Travelled first week of January 2016. The resort is a great size not too big or overcrowded. There are more than enough slopes to keep you going for the week without feeling too overwhelmed. There were NO QUEUES for any lifts when we went and we practically had the slopes to ourselves! Temperatures were seriously low between -25 and -30... More

Lovely snow and well groomed pistes. Slopes were empty and there were no queues. Staff everywhere were really friendly and helpful. Such a really peaceful place.

Great slopes, we put our kids in the ski school and they loved it. Very good personalized service. All very well organized as you would expect. Getting the equipment took a while but the staff were very helpful and courteous. My daughter and I spent an afternoon skiing and were very pleased with the slopes and the lifts. The view... More
