    Be prepared to wait
Be prepared to wait at Santa’s office. Get there and get a time slot if you want to see Santa as it fills up quickly and they still make you wait an hour to line up. Store is gimicy but to be expected

    Do not have high expectations
We waited for over an hour with three excited children only to be extremely disappointed as we must have been in for all off two minutes to have a photo and video taken. The man himself was not interested in talking to the children. Avoid the gift for 30 euros. An awful looking elf like soft toy notepad and pen. Centre itself is magical with the snow and Christmas lights, but very commercialised as you would expect.

    It was good
This is for the children people, seriously, there is a little wait, peak December, a little wait. Yes it's no different to anywhere else, it's commercial. Santa was great, he was genuinely interested in us. The house is fantastic. Temper expectations and remember it's for the kids.

We didn’t really like visiting Rovaniemi and all that Santa’s kinda of entertainment. There’s nothing special. Santas are just young men in costumes with same learned phrases that requires huge amount of money for a photo, letters, certificates and so on. We really regret that we spent so much time and money for this place. Kittilä, Levi is much better place that this one.

Thank you for the feedback! It's unfortunate that you didn't feel the Christmas spirit here in Santa Claus Office. We hope you enjoyed your visit in Lapland!

The Santa Claus Village is the best and major tourist spot in Lapland – Santa’s own hometown!
It is almost impossible not to cross the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi. The Arctic Circle runs through the Santa Claus Village, located eight kilometres north of the city centre, where it is clearly marked. Santa Claus Village in Lapland is a popular place to cross the Arctic Circle: here the line is marked, and you can even get a certificate confirming the feat. At that moment, I felt I was the luckiest man in the world.

We first stepped into the Santa Claus Office. The ambience was just fantastic and a real fairy-tale-like experience. We were ushered in by Santa’s hard-working and beautifully cute helpers, the elves. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw Santa seated inside on a wooden chair amidst a lot of gifts with his big fat belly resting on his lap! He is around 6.5F tall with a long real looking beard. He greeted us and gave us our seat. And had a little chit chat about the Xmas and arctic history. However, photos and videos are prohibited inside. For 45 Euros, we all got one photo each to cherish as a memoir for a lifetime.

Hope this helps.

We were two adults, almost 2 hours queuing to see a lifeless old fart sitting in an armchair, listless and expressionless. There are two elves, one takes pictures and the other checks that you don't pass the rules (rules not written anywhere). You can't get too close and you have to sit away from him.

PS. Everyone says in this office he's the original Santa, but obviously he's not the only one impersonating him, sometimes they use other impersonators. Read the reviews both positive and negative carefully before deciding whether to visit him or not.

The wait wasn’t so long because of the off-peak season we chose. They added nice little attractions on the way to Santa Claus’ Office. A bit pricey: an additional gift bag from Santa €25, printed photo + link to download 4 photos €65. Santa Claus was a bit tired I think. But overall, it was good.

For 45 Euros, you get 2 photos plus a video taken of you (or of your group) together with Santa per session. You only buy if you are happy with the video and photos. You cannot take your own shots. Santa will engage you in light banter. So the trick is to get ready, pose, smile and then enjoy the experience.

The actual Father Christmas was really believable, looked the part and the accent definitely added to the magic.
But the experience as a whole was disappointing- the waiting area was quite small and could have been a lot more magical - just a few little extras would have gone a long way - we arrived at 10.30 and still had a good 40min wait. There wasn’t even a door blocking the queue from the Santa clause room just a rope so the kids could see what was happening. I think if I was to do it again I’d try booking one of the Santa tours into the forest.

The queue was very long when we came....took us almost 2hrs before we met santa. They photo with santa is really good clear quality unlike in santa park. But souvenirs at the shops are really quite pricey... for a small hand warmer €10...elf hut €20 (cheap felt quality) .Bonus part they provide a big red bag for the jackets for free.

We first had a look at this experience in the afternoon and found a very long queue that was not moving at all, so we decided to come back in the evening shortly before they close. That was a good idea. There was no one ahead of us and we were able to comfortably walk the way to Santas office. They have really done that nicely.
When you get there you are greeted by really cute looking elves. You can visit Santa for free, but you can also buy a gift that you/your child gets from him for 28 Euros. We opted for that and the gift was definitely worth the price, so no rip off here. We were then led to Santa and he really looked great and was very nice. He even spoke some German which was important to our daughter, because she said: if he doesn’t speak German he is fake. So he spoke German and she was really impressed. We had quite a long chat with him, probably because of the not busy time of the day. It was a really nice experience which we all enjoyed.
After that you can buy the photos and video they make. That is not cheap, but hey, you only meet Santa once….

I visited the Santa Claus Office with my five years old daughter and she liked it a lot (the experience was very authentic). In the meeting room you can't take photos of your own, but you can purchase photos and videos of the meeting afterwards (quite expensive, though...). There is a transparent plastic sheet between Santa Claus and the guests, due to the virus. On the other hand, there are no queues now! We had to wait our turn only five minutes or so...

There are two Santa Claus visits/photo opportunities in the Santa Claus Village. One in the restaurant/gift shop area and one in the Santa Claus office. The one in the Santa Claus office is definitely better, but it was very busy so we skipped it on our first day and then made sure we were first in line for the 10 am opening the following day. You spend no more than a few minutes with Santa which is really just a photo opportunity which costs a whopping EUR 35 for a single image. Let's be honest, it's a complete rip-off, but one that you're willing to pay for a once in a lifetime opportunity.
