Our story starts in Rovaniemi with two mates, who in 1982 had four snowmobiles and a desire to share the beautiful sceneries of Lapland with other people. The plan was to arrange adventures that guests would remember for life. The pair decided to offer customers something new: meticulously organised adventures in the wilderness nature of Lapland. The market welcomed this concept with open arms and Lapland Safaris began to grow both in reputation and in size. Nowadays we are the most experienced and reputable safari company in Finland operating in Rovaniemi, Levi, Ylläs, Saariselkä and Olos.

The guides were fantastic, friendly, and well-informed. The rivers were gorgeous. The reindeer were friendly. The food was delicious, and simple enough I did not have to worry about my allergies. It kept raining, and the mosquitoes swarmed enthusiastically, but Lapland Safaris provided us with rain gear and bug spray. We had been told that there would be a dogsled... More

These guys are the best of the best. You could literally turn up in a tee shirt and shorts and they will kit you out in EVERYTHING you would need! They are super organised and don't make you feel like a number. We did the santa claus safari which was lovely to learn about lappish culture and the reindeer. We... More

We did the Santa Claus Safari in Summer (June) and had the best experience of Lapland culture. We first were rugged up in overalls, raincoat and lifejacket against the inclement weather for the trip up the river to a wonderful insight into Lapland culture by a woman who explained so much to us as well as taking us into her... I took their aurora hunting tour by foot. The guides were so passionate about the auroras that it naturally made us even more interested to find out more about it. We were excited and looked forward to seeing the northern lights and only a 5 minute journey by bus, we saw the most amazing display... the bus stopped somewhere safe... More

We saw the Aurora Borealis on the 28th March night. After a proper briefing and dressing up in appropriate overalls, we were taken by bus to a village 50 miles north of Rovaniemi, called the Patokoski, to a frozen river (name: Ounasjoki) beside an old log cottage called Poro Pekan Pritti. The owners of the cottage welcomed us with hot... More

I visited Rovaniemi for 3 days during Christmas 2015, which is enough time to visit the attractions & to go for activities. I would recommend to go for Husky safari if you would like to go for speed and would like to meet cute and adorable huskies. Reindeer safari is good for childrens. Recommendation: The prices are almost half if... More

My boyfriend and I booked 2 safaris with the company- husky safari and snowmobile safari- after our arrival in Rovaniemi. We wanted to book more but sadly they had no places left- so book in advance if possible!! We had an amazing experience with the company, everybody was very friendly and the safaris seemed well organised and staff very knowledgeable... More

We stayed at the chalets in Ounasvaaran Lakituvat for one week and enjoyed the snowmobile and dog sledge activities a lot. Weather is nice in this period of the year, the days are long and there aren't many tourists around. Suvi and our guide Martin were great. Diego

They were good with the variety of activities, and for a solo traveller, it was easy to book with them. Most of the other tour companies around the area required a minimum number of 2 participants but this company will take bookings from even a solo traveller! The only thing was that I found their Rauna Zoo tour to be... More
