Pilke offer good visiting place with kids, but also some interesting experiences for adults. Information and games about forests. Nice looking place in the huge wooden building

The cultivation and harvesting of wood. Much of the building is used for offices, the ground floor has the displays. Educational for children. The kids liked the tractor display.

After the visit at the Arktikum, we decided to also visit this place which had been recommended at our hotel. The kids loved it as it is 100% interactive: basically they could touch/try everything. It is pretty much focused on local activities and environement topics. We spent about 2.5h there and kids did not want to go away! Very nice... More

This is place to exercise your environmental creativity and learn about the paper industry and other scientifical experiments. Kids can play freely even in the giant bulldozer standing in the middle of the salon.

Since Pilke is an interactive science center, my expectations were quite high. However once you get there, it feels like it's directed more towards kids than adults. Also the space itself is not big at all, so you'll be done in no time. If you really are interested in knowing more about the forests of Finland though, Pilke gives some... More

A very enjoyable and educational experience. There's a wide range of interactive exhibits, including a logging simulator, and even a real life logging vehicle. It covers diferent parts of the logging and milling cycle, and addresses issues like sustainable logging and meat. It's well worth adding a ticket to your ticket for the Arktikum.

Just across from the the Arcticum these two museums can be combined nicely. The museum has lots of hands on exhibits and games around wood, forest and forestry. If the museum is not very full (as it was during our visit) you will have one or two very fun hours (also with kids) - not a must see, but a... More

I paid a short visit to Pilke Science Centre. I really liked the place, and have to return with my kids! Science centre, which is concentrating on everything about forests. Lots of different apects, many things to try and do yourself.
