- Silvio DanielCernache, Portugal47 contributionsInteresting farmWe spent a couple of hours there and it was nice. Animals seemed well treated and happy. There's even some for the children and a small shop inside where you can buy sausages and marshmallows to cook over a campfire. Nice!Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 21, 2023
- Catherine VMinnesota149 contributionsWalk with the reindeer.I booked this attraction before arriving in Finland and was very pleased. As far as I am concerned, the "Walk with the Reindeer" event was my favorite experience at Santa's Village. The two young ladies who were my escorts with Valko - the reindeer, were friendly, approachable, and had a great sense of humor. A wonderful experience all around. I took the 15-minute walk and was glad I did. It was cold. Tips: but the moss to feed the reindeer.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten November 23, 2023

We arrived at the farm and met Inka, our guide for the activity. She then took us to meet Pena and Eevertti, the 2 cute alpacas who accompanied us in the hike. The hike was through the forest behind the farm, and the landscape was beautiful, with tall trees covered by snow, as well as some smaller pine trees and bushes at which the alpacas were stopping to have a snack :D. Along the way, Inka told us a couple of things about alpacas, and she helped us taking some great pictures with the alpacas with our phone. After the hike, we spent a couple of hours at the farm, where you can see some other animals, like goats (which you can brush and pet), reindeers which you can feed (it costs 5 euros for a bag of twigs), a pony, etc. Also they have a couple of kotas in which the fire is burning, so you can buy some hot drink and drink it in the kota to get warm. There was also a place for kids with swings and stuff, and also a small icy slope to slide down on with a mattress. Overall it was a fun activity, and given the fact that you can also visit the farm afterwards, it’s something really worth doing.Visited November 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 25, 2023

- Elise PManchester, United Kingdom6 contributionsMagical place to meet reindeer! We had such an amazing time here! We booked an hour walk with a reindeer. We booked this in advance, which I recommend. At the time of booking we also added a Lapland keepsake and a bag of moss to feed the reindeer, which they LOOOVED. It was all ready for us when we arrived. We came a bit early and wandered around to see the other animals in Santa’s Farm Yard (this is included if you book an experience with them) and a they also have a warm-up tent which is nice! I understand you can buy snacks from their shop to enjoy in the warm-up tent if you like. We then proceeded on our 1-hour walk through the woods with a reindeer and guide. We had a lovely time getting to know our guide and reindeer, learning about the traditional profession of caring for reindeer, as well as learning more about Lapland and Finland in general. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We also felt it was so nice as we got to know the reindeer, Hilima, really well and really enjoyed getting to know her, feeding her and taking photos which we felt was a lot more special than a sleigh ride. This was such a magical experience and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It was one of my favourite things we did in Finland for sure. The guides were so friendly and knowledgeable as well. Definitely not one to miss in Rovaniemi!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 6, 2024

It is a very nice but very small farm situated in front of the Husky Park, in the Santa Clauss Village.
You can visit the farm itself in 15/20mn.
We selected the 1h00 walk with Alpagas as the Reindeer is accessible only form +10 years old and Alpagas +8 years.
It was a very nice walk and great thing is that you can ask as well a guide in your language before the visit. It was in French for us and it's very important to know more about Lapland and the animals if you are not comfortable in English.
For Alapagas, the only thing is that they have only 3 Alpagas available so if you book for 4 people as an example, you will need to switch guide at mid-trip. It is not a big deal but important to know as the cost is the same : 45€/P. even if you walk only half way with an Alpaga...
It is definitely a Must Visit if you come with Kids :-)

We reserved the reindeer walk, which was great. It's a cheap (surprising for the Santa Claus Village) and quick experience where you walk a reindeer through a private area and drum up a rapport with the animal super quick. The rest of the farmyard itself is very small and you can walk around it in 15 minutes easily. There is a central pen with alpacas, and beyond that it's just a couple of ponies, a few goats, a couple of bunnies and that's about it. So the farm itself is very limited, but the experience of walking with the reindeer's makes a visit worthwhile.

The idea of feeding reindeer is one that will appeal to both adults and kids alike, but for a family of 4 to be charge 50 euros to get in to this place is beyond the normal excessive prices of Rovaniemi. On top of this you can pay another 5 euro for the feed that the reindeer dont eat!
After the non eating reindeer you can see some chicken, these are not special artic version chickens, but the normal ones you can see anywhere else. They fit in nicely with the non artic goats, sheep, pony and donkeys.
I cannot stress enough how much the « Elf Farm Yard » should be avoided, save your money, and find a reindeer somewhere else.
Disappointed!!

A really interesting few hours … on arrival we were met by an enthusiastic elf .. we purchased some hotdogs and marshmallows and cooked them on an open fire . Children had great fun sledding and visiting the different animals . To finish we opted for the experience of walking the reindeer and this was something special to do as a family and get some amazing photos . Highly recommend

We had a wonderful time at the Elf's Farmyard today. Laura was our guide and made our visit very enjoyable. She was knowledgeable about the animals we had a chance to enjoy. Laura was very pleasant and really made our visit special. We loved interacting with the animals including petting and feeding the reindeer. We highly recommend this event for families and couples alike. We loved our. visit to the Elf's Farmyard

We really enjoyed our time there. We saw the animals and fed the reindeers and alpacas. We had fun sliding in the snow and on the second time we tried the cross country skiing. It is a great place for families.

This place is super nice with some animals. Activities can be organized with them, including walks and feeding. We walked the alpacas for an hour and we fed both alpacas and reindeer. We grilled marshmallows and you can grill sausages as well. A great activity when it is minus 17.
