Our holiday with Nordic unique travels in Finnish Lapland was excellent! In addition to the wonderful place, the tour guides and the staff at the agency made it a truly remarkable holiday. Although we were quite prepared for the cold, they also offered the full Arctic gear for mostly all activities. All transfers and arrangements went very smoothly and they were always punctual on all occasions. The meals were very nice (where included) and the guides chose the best places that catered for vegetarians (as we were).

Massive thanks to Marcelo who is one of the best and most helpful travel agents I've ever come across (having travelled quite a bit!). I feel very lucky to have found him and his company on tour radar! He helped us put together an amazing itinerary and recommended the best accomodation as well as tours that we thoroughly loved. He was always very prompt in replying, very knowledgeable and provided accurate answers to all our questions when we were in the planning stages. He is a true asset to the company and without him we may not have been able to organise our holiday to perfection!

Sarka was the best guide we had on our tour (icebreaker). She is a lovely person, extremely friendly and provided exceptional customer service. Really made our trip very special and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time throughout!

We were happy to have Malcolm as our guide on the snowmobile tour as he was highly experienced and skilled. Being very new to this activity, we needed extra guidance which he kindly provided and also supported us patiently to ensure that we thoroughly enjoyed the unique experience. His passion and enthusiasm for snowmobiling and Finland was very heartwarming :)

Clement was a very pleasant and helpful guide, never rushing us and ensuring we had a beautiful time at one my most favourite places (Ranua zoo).

I cannot recommend them highly enough! We would love to visit Lapland again and wouldn't think twice about booking with them :)))

It was the last day of our winter break in Lapland and we had the idea of having a night-time sauna and a jacuzzi on the shores of a lake, therefore we decided to book this activity at Nordic Unique Travels. We knew that it would have been unique and fascinating but not that much. First of all we met our guide, a french girl whose name is Oriane. She is so friendly and she has the ability to put you immediately at ease. Moreover she speaks fluently and clearly english. She drove us to this wonderful place about 15 minutes from Rovaniemi and gave us all we need to really enjoy ourselves inside the sauna ( from towels to cold drinkable water ). The sauna itself was brand new, made of black fragrant wood and really spacious whereas the 2 jacuzzis were outdoor, just in front of the lake. The lake was not only part of a magnificent landscape, it was also a brave way to cool you down after the sauna or the jacuzzi. After two hours of relax she invited us to eat marshmallows and drink berry juice in front of a campfire, inside a typical lappish kota while we spent a great time talking to this guide who has the rare quality of being "human" as well as professional.
I highly recommend trying this experience, for us it was worth all the money spent.

It's our pleasure to have Clement as our tour guide during this trip. We actually feel awkward when we met up because it's also our first time to travel with a tour guide. Clement (we called him Ah Hao) break the ice when we start our journey by introducing the details for our trip yet we get more excited after some conversations. He really did a good job in multitasking as we actually chat about 3-4 hours while he was driving us to next destination. He shared lot of stories that he experienced in Finland & Norway so we could understand more and adapt to the environment. He put efforts to help us looking for northern lights (driving here and there with some snowstorm) even though that's not our main interest and well.. is not our lucky day to see northern light. There are still many small details about his good will in helping us at any point of time! It's kinda upset to split away with Ah Hao when it comes to the end of the whole trip even we only knew for 3 days, we really appreciate all the times we travel and have fun together! We would definitely pick u again as our tour guide for next visit!! We will keep in touch and all the best to you! (p/s: We feel so lucky to meet you twice on the next two days during our stay in Rovaniemi!)

Our family was really excited about doing this night tour to see the northern lights and experience a night ride. First, we were strongly encouraged NOT to use the snow suits. We were told it’s not really that cold; not to worry of was only just 1 degree. Super bad advice! Most people took the advice, and their bodies and hands were frozen the whole trip. We were even being told how to shake our bodies to keep our hands from freezing half way Through the ride. ( We could of just been given gloves to begin with....). Anyway, as soon as we left we were also told there would be no northern lights, they haven’t seen them in many months. So, why was this the title of the tour? A day time ride is way better to see the forest and appreciate where you are in the world. I would not recommend the night snowmobile ride just because you see nothing and it’s generally colder and much windier.

Dear Vashon4family, Thank you for your feedback, we sometimes tell to people that already have good snow gears to not wear overalls because the clothes are enough, mostly if it was +1 one degree, and with overalls you can sweat and get more cold. Sorry to hear that you were too cold during the experience, anyway we always give gloves for snowmobile rides so it is really weird if you didn't recieve any. I don't know also who told you that we haven't seen the northern lights for months because that is also not true. We are sorry that you did not enjoy the snowmobile ride, and we would have to have more information about it so we can know what to do about it. Let us know at lorenzo@nordictravels.eu Best regards, Lorenzo, Nordic Unique Travels

Did 3 tours with Nordic Unique Travels and they were all arranged perfectly!
The first one was a 10km husky sleigh ride, our guide Lorenzo drove us to a husky farm an hour drive away from Rovaniemi. These people take really good care of the dogs and it was an unforgettable experience in the middle of the woods.
The second tour was the snowmobiling and ice fishing experience. We were a group of almost 40 students, but they arranged it perfectly and divided us into two groups. A special thanks to our guides Lorenzo, Jordi and Matias!
The last tour we did was the northern lights photography tour with Lorenzo. We saw beautiful northern lights and received a lot of pictures the day after. Afterwards, we enjoyed a small barbeque where we had the chance to warm up a little bit.
Highly recommended!

Dancing with the lights over Lapland 🤌🏼

Hello everyone, we planned a northern light tour with Nordic Unique Travels. That was literally top-notch and well-organized experience. All started by gathering at the meeting point in their office which is located in the city center. Then we were driven around 60-70 km away to catch and hunt the lights over a frozen lake side. At the beginning, we were a bit hopeless about seeing it thats because during the day the weather was very cloudy and not clear sky at the city center. When we arrived that lake side, we got extremely excited, this time clouds were gone and we were able to see them all. Very fascinating moment and atmosphere 🫠😍

All in all, it was so amazing and absolutely great night with a barbecue of sausages and marshmallows by drinking a hot cup of blueberry tea right next to the campfire. We got warmed by the wood fire. Also, we would like to thank the photographer guy named Romain specifically, he was very patient and ambitious to catch those wonderful pics with the lights in the background almost without warming himself and resting like he was taking his own pics. He took several pics of each person without getting bored. We highly recommend them to anyone who is eager to see the unique Northern lights 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Warm regards from Turkey,
Can

Last night was a cloudy and snowy day. We doubted the possibility of watching Aurora We, 7persons, joined the Aurora Professional Photography Group. The leading photographer and driver were the Italian guy Lorenzo, and the guide was Taiwanese guy Ralph. The two consecutive observation points were overcast and the snowflakes were constantly drifting. We had to start the campfire picnic first. Although it was not very rich, the sweet and warm berry tea, the reindeer sausage grilled corn and bread also made the children happy. . After the meal we continued our journey of chasing aurora. Snowflakes continued until eleven o'clock in the evening, but Lorenzo was still watching the clouds, and finally when the car stopped, the stars in the sky started to flash, and the aurora also changed from weak to strong, finally we saw like it with the naked eye, like the fox's tail flickers, and like the rainbow with green and purple Strips. We are so lucky~

We did the Snowshoe Adventure and the Ice Float Experience, both of which were highly enjoyable.
The Snowshoe experience was a beautiful walk through a snow covered forest, our guide was a great instructor of how to use the shoes, and was very knowledgeable about the trees and wildlife in the forest. During the tour we also got to stop for some yummy reindeer sausages cooked over a fire.
The Ice Float Experience came recommended to us and we are so glad that we did it, probably one of the most unique experiences of our whole trip. To be able to float in a frozen lake under a gorgeous night sky is an in credible thing. Unfortunately we didn't see the lights due to cloud cover and some light snow, but we can imagine how incredible it would be to see them like that. They cut a hole in the lake just for the floating area so it's almost impossible to float away, and they give you a full dry suit. We could still feel the cold of the water but not uncomfortably so, and adding some additional layers under the suit would fix that, and we could still stay out in the water for about 45 minutes. A very simple activity but one of the highlights of our trip.
The office was very easy to find and located almost in the middle of Rovaniemi, however was quite small so could get crowded immediately prior to the tours departing and we were encouraged to wait outside until the tour began which could be unpleasant if it was not god weather. Very friendly staff and well organised.

Boyfriend and I took the Northern Lights Hunting with Husky Sled tour and it was hands down the best night of our 10 day trip to Finland. Antonela and Alize were fantastic guides: knowledgeable, energetic, and friendly. And throughout the trip they was taking pictures of everyone that they later shared (including when the lights showed up!). The husky ranch owners were so nice and treated their dogs very well which was important to us as we look for responsible tourism especially with treatment of animals. They also let us spend time hanging out with the dogs while they ran about and answered all the questions we had. Many people comment on the shortness of the husky ride but we thought the 30 min was a perfect amount of time (which they are very open and upfront about).

After our sled ride we started enjoying some tea outside the husky ranch while the guides looked for an area do the best chance to see the lights as it was pretty overcast. In a magically perfect way, the clouds opened up the Bz rating dropped and we got a light show as we enjoyed our tea. It was PERFECTION.

After that, they once again were on the hunt and took us to a camping locations where we thought we would have the best chance with the clouds. It was an incredibly beautiful lake side wooden shelter where we got to enjoy a fire while roasting sausages & marshmallows.

Sadly no more lights but still the dedication of the guides to search and give us the best chance was awesome.

10/10 recommend this tour and group!

I was able to appreciate the difference in Marti, the northern light hunter and an avid photographer, versus the earlier 2 outings with another operators. He was actively driving and searching, or I should say , chasing for clear sky to secure higher probability of seeing the northern light NL. He made quick stops, making calls and searching the Internet app and he seems to have the chat network with similar NL hunters spreading around to achieve real time communication . The confidence in the operandi modus was really professional. He set up the camera and lens, scanning through the sky and achieved multiple hits with good blast of NL. I can see he enjoyed the wait , the hunt and more so , the astronomical photography. He would spare the entire night beyond his time for duty as he loves taking pictures of the sky. I would say my family had a great time , with incessant photo taking to our heart's content with the back drop of the beautiful AURORA BOREALIS. I thank him for providing this invaluable experience and indelible memory for the outing with my family.

Thank you Marti.

Regards
