We went to this bridge to celebrate new year as recommended by someone we met in the city. First we walk across the bridge to the other side of the river. Then we walk back to find a good position on the bridge to see the fireworks. Many people standing along the bridge. The fireworks was clearly visible from here.

Amazing view with the freezing river background. A must vist place in Lapland. In winter the river is frozen and we can see many winter activities around. there is a walkway and a small park along with the river where we can take good photos and spend some time.

Walked over this bridge dozens of times through the snow and enjoyed looking at it from different angles. Interesting design based on two chopped down trees. Traditionally woodcutters would work in winter, in long dark nights. They would lean a couple of felled trees together, cut a hole in top, pour oil and light them like candles to see. So the story goes. The bright lights on the bridge look just like this. When you know the story the bridge becomes more than just another bridge.

I suggest you visit the place during night time and also during daytime. We were lucky to see the aurora during night time..during day time you get to appreciate the start of autumn leaves. Very nice.

I walked down by the riverside on several occasions to get varying light and weather with this bridge as the focus. There's a lovely beacon at the top which reflects in the river for some great shots. Also, a lovely walking path exists along the river to watch the locals and get some great photos

It's in all the marketting photos...so when you get here, why not see it in real life...?! tick!

It's not a very wide river so cannot compare to Golden Gate or Forth Bridge, but it is most definitely a bridge...

Love this bridge so much that I visited it multiple times during day and night, and on a sunny day and a snowy day. I would consider myself lucky - staying in Rovaniemi for two days and experiencing a super sunny day on the first day and then windy and snowy the next day. I felt like seeing four distinct seasons in two days.

Go out early to take photos of this areas close to the Candle Bridge.
The river underneath was frozen, so it created a lovely setting for photo's and "selfies"
