We did a 5 day tour during winter - it was physically demanding but the experience of Arctic environment in winter conditions was so worth the hard work. The dogs were phenomenal athletes and the guides were very patient and passionate about their work.

While some aspects of the trip could be better organised, overall we have had an incredible time and bonded well with other participants. I think most of us caught the mushing bug and will return very soon!

Highly recommend doing a longer tour if you enjoy some physical challenge and the cold; but you will be rewarded with an experience that you’d cherish for a very very long time.

We booked the two day polar nights Safari and it was an amazing experience! Jetta Huskies kept the group small (6 guests) and provided 2 guides. The guides were attentive and knowledgeable. Our first day was incredibly challenging with snow and strong winds. Our second day was clear, but very cold. The guides ensured we were warm and safe the entire time.

They really make sure you have a true experience. You help get the dogs hooked up, mush your own sled, and help feed and care for the dogs in the evening. It's clear they take great care of the 249 dogs they have on the farm end and the dogs are super stoked to be able to run the sleds.

The food provided was simple and fulfilling. The evening accomodations were also simple (glamping in a circular hut with access to a dry toilet).

If you want to experience the peace and quiet of the Finnish winter countryside, you can't go wrong with this experience.

We booked a winterwonderland safari, 20k and 4 hours. We were conpletely satisfied with the whole tour. Driving through the nature in winter is defintely worth seeing. In the half we had a little break and got a hot chocolate. Our guide was very kind and helpful if we had a problem. For sure we‘d book it again.

Its way too commercial! Traveling with two toddlers, we were hoping for a more intimate experience but ended up with a huge group (despite calling a day before wherein they confirmed it will be a small group). Be mindful that a bus full of tourists can sign up at the last moment too so if you are expecting a fun trip with children, you can be in for a surprise. Also, we booked the safari of 14:30 hours (Dec) but it was totally dark outside by then. So one is riding in the sleigh in total darkness without any view of the landscape and the only things visible are the headlamps of other riders. In my opinion one should only sign up for a safari between 10-2pm during winters when there is day light especially if you are traveling with kids. As a responsible business, they should not recommend this slot (post 2pm) for families with young kids but I guess business sense prevails over transparency. Almost all the kids we saw who went on this safari came back crying as it was too dark and too cold for them. After the safari one had an option of going to their warm cabin with a fireplace wherein they served berry juice and cookies which was the only saving grace of this disappointing experience!

We did two tours a 6k and 20k with Hetta Huskies and were extremely happy afterwards. Carla is a great guide who visibly loves the dogs. The dogs are well taken care of and seem very happy. They gave us information about the dogs and their life in the arctic and they all know them 'personally' which is quit impressive considering they have 182 dogs. We had a wonderful time!

My first 30 km Husky sledding experience in Arctic circle.

Spent the entire day with Hetta Huskies - An award-winning sleddog entity which is also part of CAPE Lapland: Finland's Centre for Arctic and Polar Exploration.

The welfare of every single Husky is tracked including the number of km they run a day and every Husky is taken care off till they passed on naturally.

This is a great experience as technically you get to pick up your team members (Husky) from their kennel, harness them according to their colour code ( an indication of their build and ability to be the lead twin dog and leach them to your sled. You will also get an opportunity to outfit your own sled. An average built Husky runs about 60 to 70 km per day and Hetta Huskies has a regime of progressive training for these dogs. Summer are complete holidays for these Huskies.

Pls do support their work if you are in Enontekiö. You can also book a 5 days Husky expedition into the Arctic Tundra too.

Another tick off my bucket list today

it was an incredible experience :)
Hetta Huskies takes such good care of their dogs and customers !

The first nights in the cota were giving a small tase of what is to come, no running water, no "real" toilet.. it takes you out of your comfort zone! But hey, you get used to it.

Staying in small huts only lit and heated by the fire makes this experience even nicer. You spend time taking care of the dogs, chatting with the people of your group and finally loose this toxic virtual environment of the internet for more important things.

The dogs are very well trained and behaved, such a laugh to see them all excited in the mornings when the journey is about to start and nice to see how content they are in the evening when you lay them down to sleep for the night.
Our guide Charlotte was outstanding ! She really knows all about the animals and it's really nice to chat with her.

The days can be long and hard on the sledge, but that is the beauty of it, you can always run up hill to warm up :)

The food offered during the trip is great - soups at lunch and all kings of yummy stuff for dinner! Even for those having a sweet tooth there always is dessert.

Hello, first of all, thank you for your lovely review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your trip even though it was out of your comfort zone (most people experience our multiday safaris the same way). Since our Guides put a lot of work into training our dogs they are always happy to hear this kind of positive feedback! Not just about our well-behaved dogs but also about the safari itself. We hope to see you again! Kind regards, Helena from Hetta Huskies

We booked the 12km ride. Our german guide Nele showed us the farm, explained the concept and all the tasks come along with managing nearly 200 huskies. It was very interessting and individual. Handling the dogs was many fun and steering the sledge was exciting. The tour could have been double the distance. Sitting in the sledge is a little bit hard, especially in the back but I made already a easy improvement. Next time I will be interessted in a multi day tour, thats for sure BR, Michael

We saw the team from Hettas Huskies twice during our Lapland trip; once during a TUI organised taster session and once on a 2km and taster we did at the farm. Both times the staff were amazing and friendly, the dogs are gorgeous and everything was well explained and safe. On the TUI taster you don’t drive the sled. Book with the farm directly for their trip and you do - they’ll even pick you up from the hotel (add on during direct booking process). We had to reschedule in resort because of changes in the TUI programme and it was easily accommodated - we even got to cuddle some husky puppies! Highly recommend - was our kids (age 5 and 9) favourite part of the trip!

I booked the 8 day package (5 day tour). Firstly, the place is extremely well run and all of the dogs are lovingly cared for by the team of guides/Anna. The dogs seem very happy to live there, none of them are aggressive and all enjoy a cuddle!
It was a great experience to get involved with taking care of the 190 dogs and to learn about their day to day maintenance.
The 5 day tour was pretty tough honestly but really enjoyable, especially if you’re a real lover of both dogs and outdoor adventures. The cabins were simple yet comfortable, in beautiful remote surroundings, and I enjoyed the dinners by the fire. Our guides, Jana & Nele, were such sweet caring girls with the knowledge and confidence necessary to lead a fun adventure into the wilderness (thank you to both)!
The post tour 2 night stay in the local hotel was also very comfortable with good meals included.
Thank you to the whole team (Jana, Nele, Anna, Carla, Caitlyn, Martina, Simone, Ray, Mika) for making me feel included always and giving me an experience to remember forever. Maybe see you next year :) - Naomi <3
