Lovely nature centre, highly recommend!
Dec 2018 • Couples
Highly recommend visiting the nature centre - it has wonderful and informative exhibition about the Sami people. It is a lovely modern building, and the staff was also helpful and friendly. There is also a great and easy walk up to the fell just behind the nature centre, and the views were absolutely fabulous. I wish more people visited here!

Usefull visit

Friendly people, and the building holds an exhibition and movies. There is a small café to get a coffee and it is also the start of a couple of hiking trails.
Good place to get addresses for activities in this area

Staff is helpful. Arranged a limited access Kota (hut) through the Visitor Centre for little money and was kindly helped with directions and instructions that proved helpful on a snowmobile tour.

Interesting centre
Sep 2017 • Family
Definitely worth visiting! Take a break and spend 15min-1hour with Sami culture's history and information, really nice and active place for kids too called Untuvikko (Baby Bird). Photos, infos and couple of amazing exhibitions of nature photographer and bird carpenter. Also helpful guide who speaks really good English. Go and visit!

Great spot for local information
Sep 2017 • Couples
We were really impressed with the information in the centre. Lots of local walks leave from here which the staff in the centre are more than happy to help you with. There were 2 exhibits on when we were there, one including detailed information about the local Sami people and the other about a Finnish photographer. Really glad we stopped by.

Informative exhibition about Sami culture
Mar 2017 • Couples
After our snowshoe hike to Jyppyrä, we visited the centre. There was a free exhibition about the life of Sami people. It's been composed very well and you get good information.
There is a small souvernir shop and a café where we had some coffee.
Staff in the visitor centre is very friendly.

A must visit place in Enontekio
Mar 2017 • Friends
We made a special visit to this visitor centre. It contains a permanent exhibition about the life of the Sami people who have lived in this area for thousands of years. it explains how they lived with excellent pictures and exhibits. You come away with a greater understanding of the people in this area and how they live at one with nature. There is also a good café and gift shop for souvenirs.

A small introduction to Sami culture
Mar 2017 • Friends
The center is worth a visit if you are in the area. It presents a basic insight into the life of the Sami people during the different seasons. It is nicely presented, but is it not very big. There is also an audio visual film about the different seasons in the national park, which captures the beauty of the area throughout the year.

There is a kids corner; a good gift shop; a small cafeteria (which is often closed) and other small exhibitions, which change regularly.

There are plenty of good hikes and skiing possibilities close by. A short walk from Hetta

Interesting Displays and Well Worth a Visit
Mar 2017 • Solo
I spent an interesting two & a half hours looking at the Sami displays, the birds exhibits and watching old B&W movie footage of life in the past in this region. Very interesting, although I couldn't understand a word that was said! Interestingly there were leaflets to read in French, German & another language at some of the displays but I didn't see any in English. Maybe these were just translations of what was on the walls which told how life is affected by the 4 seasons at these high latitudes in Finnish, English and ?Sami?
