About
The Puijo tower is an observation tower at the top of Puijo hill in Kuopio, Eastern Finland. Opened in 1963, the tower is 75 metres (246 ft) tall and has a revolving restaurant with 100 seats and a beutiful cafe. It was the first tower with a revolving restaurant in the Nordic countries. The current Puijo tower has been visited by over 5.5 million tourists. The current tower is the third overall. When it was completed in 1963 the second one, built in 1906, was dismantled. The first tower was built in 1856. On the western side of the tower there are three ski jumping hills.

Amazing view from the top. We didn’t anticipate the view being so good. You can a lot of lakes and islands. It was very windy so bring a warm jumper.
The floor below there was a cafe which also had good views snd sold pastries and drinks. There are trails through the forest too

Visiting Puijo Tower was an amazing experience! The tower offers breathtaking panoramic views of Kuopio and the surrounding lakes and forests, making it a must-see attraction. The observation deck provides a unique perspective, especially during sunset when the scenery is absolutely stunning. The tower’s facilities are well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and informative. The revolving restaurant is a highlight, offering delicious food with spectacular views. I visit with my family , great place and good experience. I’m summer Puijo offers good selection for activities, especially for children. However during winter , we visit last winter, there was still enough activities for kids enjoy once, but would be great to get some more, not just the sliding for kids.

Pujio Tower overlooks Kuopio area. Several different towers have stood here over the years. From the tower you get a great view of Kuopio and the surrounding lakes. You also look down on the ski jumps and new chair lift system.

Great views over Kuopio and surraundings. Free parking but a small entry fee. Cafe has regular prices up in the tower. Also inva toilet up in the tower

This tower sits above the township and offers good views. Went up by lift and walked down the steps. Also situated near the ski jumps. These were worth a look.

We walked up the side of the ski slopes and fitted in some geocaching at the same time. We also visited the tower which had lovely views which stretch out for miles. There is a revolving restaurant at the top and you can also go even further to view not eh top deck.

Elevator up and there's a phenomenal view out over the area. It really helps you to understand the landscape of Finland. Nice little cafe too so well worth a visit. We had no idea there was so much water around us when staying in Kuopio, there are islands everywhere!!!! Great visit, pleased we came.

It's a short drive out of town or about a 45 minutes walk from the center. If you pay for the lift in the shop downstairs, the price will be deducted from your bill at the restaurant. The 360 degrees views are beautiful, especially if you choose a day with clear skies. The daily set menu is delicious and very well presented, also price & value wise the best choice. The surrounding areas are suitable for walking, skiing or exercising in the nature.
