We stumbled on this historic public square as a result of following a main avenues (Avenyn) on the way to Haga. Surrounded by interesting buildings and has a lovely statue. The walk along Avenyn is equally interesting and impressive.

This place is considered the central square of the city. The large statute of Poseidon is in the middle of a water fountain ⛲️ if you take the road straight down you pass by central shops and attractions of the city

Don't know how about this year but last year on the facade of the Gothenburg Museum of Art interactive Christmas story from the Swedish children’s book “Pettson & Findus” were shown. You were able to move a story forward by using ski-steppers (which is some great fitness activity, by the way) or by pressing a big red button. You should check about these year, maybe there will be something similar. If so - go and see, it is worth!

This is one of the very impressive squares in Gothenburg, It was apparently designed and built to mark the city's 300th anniversary. This area of Gothenburg has many nice areas with statues and fountains. This one is at the bottom of Avenyn, the main city boulevard
