Family fun day at the universeum
Our daughter loved the universeum! The different climate zones and parts of human body were very well presented. Unfortunately we visited just before the new expo with the dinosaurs opened, as it would have been great to see that, too. The other thing that would’ve made our experience even greater was to be able to participate in the chem lad experiments. Unfortunately we didn’t know about the timed slots and reservation system so we missed that part.

    Great fun
Very cool place with something for all ages . A little too crowded but it was raining the entire day, so maybe that's why. Bring your own lunch since the food wasn't too great. Will highly recommend for families.

Very nice museum, with some interesting sections, more suitable for young children
The first panels starting from the top floor look more for young visitors, as they are low on the wall. We anyway enjoyed other sections, such as Space which is very interesting. You may spend here many hours and you may exit close to the entrance and re-enter later (for instance to have some food, since restaurant and bar inside have limited choices).

Good for younger children, not so much for teens or adultz
Nice nature related museum or experience space, we, personally liked part representing nature more as it less linked to age of visitor and everybody will find something interesting. Other parts is targeted for younger children and therefore may be a bit boring/childish for older teens, entrance price is on higher side but it justified by "natural part" of museum. To sum up, if your kids are already out of primary school and you already been in some similar indoor nature parks/zoos/aquariums (eg. Randers Regnskov or similar) you can skip unless you have nothing to do and weather is bad, as it not much more for older audience.

An enjoyable Science and Nature Museum - not really geared to disabled visitors
This is well worth a visit. It took us about 5 hours to get round all of it. I particularly liked the ocean section with the rays and the sharks and the Maths section with good games explaining probability and other concepts. There was a giant mastermind game which was great. Everything is explained in Swedish and English. It wouldn't really be suitable for wheelchair users, and it certainly could have been designed better for access. There was a whole section on floor 4 that had raised computer terminals that you had to stand to see - they could have had two heights for this gallery. Also some of the computer exhibits in this section didn't display properly which was a shame. There were not enough seats in some areas, but plenty in other areas.

    Appeals to all
We went here as a mature couple unsure if it was just for children, but absolutely not. What a wonderful experience, from the aquarium to the rainforest...you can spend a couple of hours here including in the chemistry lab. People lovely, helpful and all speak English as our Swedish is woefully bad!

    Amazing place!
We are a couple aged 25-30 and we loved every part of this!! The amazon rainforest was just brilliant, never seen anything like it. Also we loved the space part a lot. There is a lot to learn even if you're older and there are a lot of interactive, educational games. Would highly recommend for any age.

    Very interesting science museum/mini ZOO/Aquarium
A very interesting science museum/mini ZOO/Aquarium. But mostly for Swedes rather than tourists. The entrance fee for students is a bit higher, but there are plenty of animals and plants to look at. I especially appreciate the nice lights for taking pictures and the very clean glass, you rarely see that. Also interesting is the 3D cinema, which is on the top floor where you start the tour. Just a shame it's all in testimony again. Online tickets work out cheaper.

Science center but not the best!
This is a public science center, zoo and public aquarium opened in 2001. Best suited for young children and young adults. It appears a little bit ‘worn’ and we were underwhelmed. When you have traveled around the world and you have seen other similar things, this doesn’t’ really impress you. You can go there on a rainy day to pass the time, like we did. Been there, done that.

Lovely Universeum and family day out
Excellent activity for family fun day out. We loved it, it is suitable for both children and adults. Beautiful aquarium with fish and sharks (smaller and one larger shark), it was very beautiful aquarium. Very nice area with "space" and physics, kids loved that too and so did we (grown ups). Nice Biology section, we enjoyed that too. We loved the animals very much, the different pretty birds we saw - flamingos and toucans included, little cute monkeys, fish and shark, we liked it a lot. Totally recommend :). Thank you Universeum :).

Enjoyed 3 hours here with my 17 year old daughter. The animals were fantastic and appeared to be very healthy and happy. The remainder of the museum is geared toward young children. Still worth OUR time.

What a surprise to find a tropical rain forest in the middle of Gothenburg. We loved it! The museum has clever attentions with lots of folks around to answer your questions. So many species of plants and animals and birds and reptiles. Make sure you take the cobra reflex reaction test!!! Worth a 2 hour visit.

Universeum is a great way to spend a couple hours in Göteborg. Its split into a couple of sections including an aquarium, reptile house and rainforest. Very relaxing and not overly busy if you pick your time right.

I wouldn’t plan an entire day around it, you can cover it all in about 2 hours. It’s roughly about £18 for an adult entry which is about the going rate for this sort of thing.

We decided to visit Universeum as part of the Gothenburg City Pass. As an indoor attraction it would be good to escape the cold for a few hours, or so we thought... The upstairs aquarium exhibit felt like we were outdoors, brr. We quickly descended to the next floor down, which was warmer and of course the jungle area was tropical. However, the kids exploration areas were much cooler due to the large windows and big open spaces. We finally ended up spending most of the time in the basement where there is a large toddlers play zone. Overall we were a bit disappointed not to see any monkeys although the shark tank was nice. Probably better suited for older kids ages 5-12 or so.

The kids loved the live animal museum as they called it. The rainforest experience was great although the monkeys were quarantined. All areas were super interesting and well done. Pricey especially the kids entry I found a bit high.

Visited the Universeum with 2 young children in February.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Universeum. There is so much to do across multiple floors. Across the different floors there were Science themed activities, health themed activites. There was a floor dedicated to space with different activities for the children. There was a good sized aquarium with plenty of information, talks etc were given.

The different activities are located around the outer edges of the building and running through the middle is a rainforest with rope bridges and good viewing points. There were various animals to be seen in the rainforest and it was a really good idea, it was well laid out and the kids (and adults) loved it.

Location wise it was very close to a tram stop so very easy to access. Around 10 minutes on the tram from outside central station. It was excellent value for money. There was a restaurant inside. Plenty of toilet facilities and they also have free lockers available which is really handy when you are travelling with bags etc.

Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Gothenburg with children.

Cool rainforest and aquarium area. Well done.
Adult food was good and nicely presented. Kids food, extremly slow and unhygenic served. Meatballs picked by hand, the same hand handeling receipts etc. To sum up, attractions ok but skip the food.

Very well laid out and accessible museum - most impressive are the indoor rainforest, aquarium and reptile areas. The science info on the human body, space and vision were very well done - a lot of it is probably aimed at maybe 5-12 yr olds but there is definitely something there for everyone. Great building with a nice feel and some outdoor seating areas on the roof area. We went midweek and out of school holidays so didn’t experience the madness mentioned by other contributors and our 17 and 21 yr olds found it very interesting!
