giant place with arts
Jul 2020
If you want to see all those stages full of art wonders you should be ready to travel there for all the day long. It was very difficult for kids to look around, but they were misterized with interactive exhibitions.

Great space with great art

The building throning over the city centre is an impressive view for itself, but the exhibtion is great as well. The Konstmuseum can be something you overlook as it is not featured that well, but it's worth your trip!

Small but great impressionists collection !

Great experience! This museum has really nice impressionists collection - Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Mark Chagall! Separate room is dedicated to Pablo Picasso, which have some of his famous works, for example "Family of acrobats with monkey". This art museum have great old European and Scandinavian masters, including Rubens. On the first and second floor you can find some modern art ! Definitely recommend to all!

Enjoyable
Jul 2020 • Family
I enjoyed the impressionist section and my kids found a few items that they liked. I thought there was a kids section or something that could capture and hold their attention, but that was not the case. Not good for kid’s and it was decent for adults.

Great art museum
Jul 2020 • Solo
Great place at the end of Kungsportsavenyen. With both modern art, contemporary art and changing exhibitions. A good two hours (if your alone and don’t dwell too much). I could definitely go again (remember to visit “konsthalle” next door with contemporary art with a political message (at least for the time being)

Something for Everyone who loves Art
Feb 2020 • Family
We passed a fascinating morning in the museum it is spacious and sorry and the exhibits are so well placed. It is easy to stand back admire and enjoy without getting fatigued by the quantity. It’s not a vast museum so perfect for a half day for teens.
There is a restaurant and lockers for your bags and coats and also a well stocked art/book shop. It’s free to teens and reasonable for adults we paid £10 for a ticket which enables us to visit 3 city museums for a year.

Lovely building with amazing art work on show
Jul 2019
The building was lovely and spacious and there was some interesting modern art in the foyer, There was an amazing range of art on show and it is always nice to see artwork from the region you are visiting, e.g. Sweden's answer to the French impressionists. Would recommend for any art lovers.

Disappointing
Dec 2019 • Solo
Having read the glowing reviews I went out of my way to visit this museum expecting something special. Seriously, don’t bother. The collection is full of Scandinavian mostly unknown artists and is truly boring. The ambience is more mausoleum then museum. The modern stuff is also quite drab and have to agree with another reviewer that much of the displays are poorly exhibited. The area for contemporary art was disappointing - the focus much too narrow. Having booked an annual pass I was told the current exhibition was not included. That seems a bit mean and a bit pointless as it was totally empty. I flicked through the catalogue in the gift shop and I’m glad I didn’t pay the extra money to see it.

Something of interest to everyone....
Dec 2019
I visited this museum in May.With such a varied collection and so much to see I looked forward to visiting it again. This time there was special exhibition - Fran til Guldalder Hammershoi - a selection of Danish painters of their Golden Age.This was made much more interesting by the 15 minuite talk by a guide - Joel - who put it all into context for us and drew our attention to a few of the painting.A very enjoyable morning.
