I have visited this museum more times than I can count. As a foreigner living in Sweden, I get lots of visitors and this is where I take them. It's an ok museum, but if you aren't fluent in Swedish then you can't read about...More

It is maybe not expected to find something special in a smaller city like Varberg. However, here you can find one of the oldest men in Sweden. Not much left, but he has been reconstructed, and his cloths are still rather intact after hundreds of...More

Bockstenmannen is really nice, but that is pretty much it for the museum. Most of the castle can be visited without paying the entrance, so just do that. From the top there is a good view of the town and beach. The museum has chosen...More

Interested in history in general and west coast Sweden in detail , go and visit this museum. Walking distance from parking lots at harbour area. Facilities for eating etc. all within the castle area. Close to the sand beach at "kall badhuset".

Loved walking around the fortress, it is wonderfully maintained, it has great pathways and is easy to get around. You get some nice views from the fortress walls. Circumnavigating the walls was also a nice walk.

We were here on a day with blue sky and sun. Got a beautiful view of the ocean and the city. Took a stroll on the walls around the fortress. We didn't enter the museum. But the fortress itself is really worth a visit. Don't...More
