Visiting and enjoying the castle is a must when in Nyköping. The castle is an integral part of early Swedish history. The museum has so much to offer the visitor that it should be visited without rushing.

The free admission museum in the King's tower is excellent, and in summer the markets with appropriately clothed and behaving actors moving around is entertaining. Definitely recommended!

Very nice castle to visit, as well as the park around it. The castle has been recently renovated. Free admission.

The castle has been significantly restored, so needs a careful look to spot the old for the new. Worth visiting though as makes a focal point for a walk down the river. Free entry to castle & museum.

This old (16th century) castle ruin on the river is a wonderful place to stroll. Two great museums worth visiting. A really nice coffe area is open in the summer.
