Overview
More
For almost 800 years people have been coming to worship and pray at Linköping Cathedral. Work on the Cathedral was started in 1230, with the main building works being completed in 1520. The belfry and the west façade were added in 1885. Linköping Cathedral is the most impressive and expensive Swedish church building of the Middle Ages. Within the church you can see evidence of almost 800 years in which master craftsmen have expressed their faith in wood and stone

We didn't have long enough here to really look around as there are a lot of things to see but it was well worth a visit. The Cathedral is large and imposing from the outside but inside it feels comfortable and welcoming. There are some...More

The Cathedral is a beautiful piece of architecture, with construction phases now dating back almost 900 years (original church from 1150s). A few books and pamphlets describing this gem; interestingly, I bought a souvenir book using the honor system. I need to come back to...More

Being from the United States, I love all cathedrals big and small as we have nothing of the sort over there. But this one is particularly beautiful and surprisingly large and lovely for being in a relatively small town. A beautiful place to stop for...More

Swedish cathedrals usually can't measure up to any Catholic cathedral when it comes to artwork and decorations. This cathedral is no exception. It's rather grey and boring on the inside, but being one of Sweden's oldest cathedrals, there are details in the architectural design that...More

must go have a look, it's in the city centre. learnt a bit about the city's history, and it's the tallest structure in town.
