For almost 800 years people have been coming to worship and pray at Linköping Cathedral. Work on the Cathedral was started in 1230, with the main building works being completed in 1520. The belfry and the west façade were added in 1885. Linköping Cathedral is the most impressive and expensive Swedish church building of the Middle Ages. Within the church you can see evidence of almost 800 years in which master craftsmen have expressed their faith in wood and stone

It was interesting. I am not the biggest fan of churches but it was worth it. the most interesting thing was the combination of different religions that were allowed under the same roof! And I think that is inspiring!

A good place to sit and think about eternity. And sometimes to listen to an amateur choir. There is interesting collection of coats of arms.

This is a beautiful large cathedral very close to the University of Linkoping. I visited on a sunny day and it was great to see the place in natural light. The painting of Jesus behind the altar looks very Swedish!!

There aren't that many things to do in Linköping to be honest but the cathedral is a must-see in my opinion. You can spend something like 30 minutes to walk around and appreciate the building.

This huge religious edifice is the most prominent landmark of Linköping, as a city. As the sun light transmits through the beautiful stain windows, above the altar piece, it feels like a wonderful dream!

This cathedral is a sanctuary filled with hidden gems of piety. The glass window by Lisa Bauer is at first very easy to miss but standing before it for a while, it suddenly comes to life in the light, the details sparkling and coming into focus. It is a subtle and delicate work that draws one into contemplation. The tree... More

I´ve been here mostly for concerts. It has an amazing acoustics and fits very well for classical music. During the summer there are guided tours in the cathedral. I´m not sure if there are English speaking guides though.
