For almost 800 years people have been coming to worship and pray at Linköping Cathedral. Work on the Cathedral was started in 1230, with the main building works being completed in 1520. The belfry and the west façade were added in 1885. Linköping Cathedral is the most impressive and expensive Swedish church building of the Middle Ages. Within the church you can see evidence of almost 800 years in which master craftsmen have expressed their faith in wood and stone

If you visit Linköping, this is one of the must-sees of the city. The clock tower reaches as far as 173 meters above ground, making it rather daunting to stand next to it. Throughout Sweden, there are a lot of churches, due to Swedish society being based on a Christian foundation. A lot of them are fitted with fantastic architecture,... More

I actually went to Linkoping to see the "castle" (Linkoping Slott) and that failed to justify my time. Then I discovered the Cathedral, and my day got a little better and after that I've discovered Gamla Linkoping Open-Air Museum and my day got a lot better. The cathedral is nice, similar to many others building of the same age throughout... More

I stopped in here whilst touring the city and was very impressed. the Cathedral is kept up well and it has a nice feeling to it. There is a very interesting structure for remembrance candles.

It was interesting. I am not the biggest fan of churches but it was worth it. the most interesting thing was the combination of different religions that were allowed under the same roof! And I think that is inspiring!

Visit if you like to see cathedral architecture. There is a path you can walk to look around of the cathedral from the outside. Best time to visit is during spring/summer or early autumn

A good place to sit and think about eternity. And sometimes to listen to an amateur choir. There is interesting collection of coats of arms.
