Ocean and lagoon beach

Beautiful beaches, one on the ocean with huge waves and one very calm inside the lagoon. Great for a walk in the winter.

Stunning beach and location. Waves were enormous and could watch for hours. Yet inside the lagoon water is calm and great for swimming.

We visited Foz for a stroll on the beach and a walk on the great promenade. The beach is breathtaking and a magnet for local fisherman. The tidal formations enhance the form of the walking areas and as with the other beaches in the area the waves are impressive and characterise the coastline. This little town is one of the... More

Sitting on the rooftop terrace of our villa you get an amazing view of the lagoon with it collection of kite surfers and also the beach. We turned up here slightly by accident and have been very pleased. The beach stretches for miles , much of it is deserted even in mid August. There is a large campsite near Foz... More

Although the rest of Portugal is boiling this beach setting is freezing . The locals say it's the north wind and brings the colder temperatures.

Extraordinary very long beach. Very nice area, ideal for families with kids, as you can find small sea lakes with no waves, just besides the surfers ones . There are also many different restaurants at the beach, showers, parking places and small shops. We went in August and we recomend not to go later than 11:30h to ensure you find... More

Walked across from the smaller beach half a mile away and had a seafood meal sitting outside in the shade, overlooking the beach and enjoying the sea breeze. The waitress was initially shy but soon opened up and was all smiles once she realised that we didn't bite. Service was fast for drinks, bread etc and what one would expect... More

We spent a week at a friend's place and loved the easy going pace. The beach has a great lagoon to play for kids and enjoy a slower paced swim. The water in the ocean can be rough...and cold, but loved laying on the beach and chilling.
