The small “Austrian” town of Zemun is worth visiting. The Opera offers a program of plays in Serbian, but also operettas and vaudevilles. The room is modern and the seats are very comfortable. As for the price, you will have the chance to spend an excellent evening with a quality show for a few dinars!

Madlenianum is the first private Opera and Theatre in East Europe. It was opened in 1999 at the place where old National Theatre stood. It is located in the heart of Zemun.

I liked this chamber theater as it is clean, well organized, not too small, but again, intimate. It has its charm and is worth visiting it.

Visiting this beautiful building is a pleasure for the senses, particularly if you can catch a performance by local artists like folk musicians.
