„Zemunski kej“ is a long promenade near Danube. It starts from Zemun and goes to the confluence of rivers Sava and Danube. It is a great place to walk or ride a bicycle, and if you get tired there are numerous cafes and restaurants where you can sit, relax and enjoy the river. Just across Lido, river island, there is a place where you could feed the swans.

heard such superlatives about this place and was really dissapointed.. this is a strange combination between a city and a village... very hard to find parking, the walk on the river bank is nice, but other than that, you can really skip this place..

We were surprised to see enchanting cafes and restaurants snug beneath the steep walls of Zemun's landscape and following the river Danube. It was a nice walk to get to the end of the path and see all those restaurant snug like they are on some Alpe hill.

Zemun is an old town which can easily be reached from Belgrade by bus. Walking along the Danube in Zemun is a great experience. There are big trees so you are in the shade. There are musicians so you can listen to music. The swans are so graceful to watch. And there are many cafes and restaurants in case you would like to sit down and have something to eat or drink.

It is 7 km from Belgrade fortress to Gardos tower in Zemun. Once you have crossed the Sava river at Brankov bridge you can walk or cycle along the river bank almost all the way. Part of this journey is along Zemunski kej where there are lots of restaurants, cafés and people. I was there several times during the summer and it can be rather crowded. Go in the morning if you are a peace and quiet seeker.
it is possible to reach Veliko Ratno Ostrvo (Great War Island) on foot from Zemunski key. Great for hiking, right at the confluence of Sava and Danube.
