We went to one of the free organ concerts early Friday evening and could sit and admire the church whilst listening to the concert. If you do visit be sure to see the bridal crown in the display cabinet to the left of the altar.

If you love old churches, you will like this one. The architecture is beautiful both inside and out, and it has beautiful stained glass windows. They also offer services in english as it is a working church, you just have to check the schedule.

This is an interesting church made all the better if you are able to catch one of the free organ concerts. We were treated to an absolutely lovely free hour-long concert featuring what was clearly the "best of Bach." The organist was phenomenal and we very much enjoyed the concert. Try to catch the schedule of performances if you are in Stockholm.

Step away from a busy stockholm and the bustling shops to take a moment in this beautiful church.

Standing bold and bright just near the opera house but step inside, for free to find a large calm open space where you can sit and have a peaceful moment and admire it's architecture.

Saint Jacobs Church is near the Central Railway in the heart of Stockholm. It is a lovely church with the most colourful blue spire. Well worth a visit.

A very beautiful church in red with green colour copper roof standing in the heart of the city, next to the Kungstr?dg?rden.

We were passing by the church in our walking city tour that commenced from the Old Town and were heading to T-Centralen. Along the way, we stopped by briefly here as we were attracted by its beautiful colour combination and nice architectural design. The church was built to dedicate to the apostle St James the Greater, patron saint of travelers.

As we had quite a packed itinerary and our tour group would be having our pre-booked dinner soon, we didn't have the luxury of time to actually enter the sanctuary for a visit but just walked around it outside. Nonetheless, we liked it and could feel the tranquility and peacefulness there despite of the many visitors nearby.

When walking on the western edge of Kungstradgarden, we couldn't miss this church behind the opera house because of its bright red color, and we decided to visit for a closer look. The structure turned out to be beautifully maintained outside and inside, with a variety of architectural styles. These resulted from many years of construction after its founding in the 16th century and significant alterations occurring until 1937. The exterior displays an Early Gothic look with its pointed windows.

The interior proved to be a welcome haven after ambling through crowds of people in the park. Only a few others wandered through this lovely, mostly simple church during our stay. After a few minutes, organ music filled the space and our attention was drawn to its pipes and the excellent sound quality. The church holds many paintings along with an elaborate golden pulpit and a colorful altar.

This church is dedicated to Saint James the Greater, the patron saint of travelers, so we thought it was an appropriate stop. Though listed as St. Jacob's Kyrka, Jacob and James are interchangeable in the Swedish language.

The different styled standout red exterior of this delightful holy place was lovely to see for the first time. It is special. A grand apex crowns the lovely red edifice.

Inside is marvellous, complemented by attractive lighting. The vista along the nave, bounded by substantial columns with patterns of circles topped by arches, is delightful. Pews have a candle placed on every second one, very effective.

A grand pulpit on the left leads to the superlative high altar. This is backed by an elaborate and colourful sculptural assembly with a central painting surrounded by statues and columns.

Vibrant stained glass windows are another lovely addition. A patterned white ceiling adds to the lightness and tranquillity.

A wonderful organ elevated at the rear is the grand focus of this view.
