THE WORLD'S ORIGINAL ICE BAR ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL Stockholm is the world's first permanent bar made of ice, built in 2002. Every year in April, the interior and design is renewed with fresh ice from Torne River and skilful ice sculptors from ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi in the very north of Sweden. ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL Stockholm is open all year and has a constant temperature of -7 degrees celsius (19 degrees fahrenheit). The interior is made out of sculpted ice from the arctic Torne River, just like the glasses your drink is served out of. The bar has room for up to 60 people. The entry fee includes a cocktail and a visit lasts about 40 minutes. Children are welcome, and are served a colourful kids' drink. ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL Stockholm is centrally located on Vasaplan, next door to Stockholm Central Station and the airport shuttle train Arlanda Express. Nordic C Hotel is located in the same building as ICEBAR Stockholm. Since it opened in 2002, the ice bar has become a popular attraction in Stockholm, attracting both tourists and locals who want a slice of the arctic north in downtown Stockholm.

The Ice bar is a fun experience and a great place to visit in Stockholm, especially as Sweden is the home of the ice bar concept. We had to book online to ensure we got the time we preferred. When we arrived we were taken through to a reception/shop area and everyone was provided with jackets and gloves before entering... More

We had been told about this bar from someone who had been to Stockholm on another trip. We found that it was right on the route of the Hop on hop off bus, so we wanted to give it try. Also, it was in the 80's in Stockholm and we thought it would be cool. It is located inside a... More

We knew from the beginning that we wouldn’t get our money’s worth here, but it seemed like a fun thing to experience so we went for it since Sweden is the home of the ice bar concept. We had booked online before arriving in Sweden, to ensure we got in at the time we preferred, but we ended up running... More

I booked the Ice Hotel as part of a package with a 2 night stay. It is very touristy but quite enjoyable.I had a cocktail which tasted like cinnamon apple which was really nice. The sculptures and ice art were also really good. When we first walked in it was a nice level of busy but about 20 min in... More

Booked a visit when visiting for the day from a cruise ship. Good move as it was popular and because of limited space there was a queue. Once fitted out in cape and gloves you go through a couple of doors that keep the heat out. The bar has blocks of ice making up the walls, seats and bar counter... More

Here is a fun place to visit. It is 23 F, they provide coats and gloves, and it is quite a place. While not the cheapest drinks in town, it is unique. The ice carvings are very nicely done and it is something to talk about. You go in for 45 minutes, which is plenty, take pictures, and have a... More

This was a walking distance from our hotel - Sheraton. Entrance fee gets you a drink served in an ice glass. They offer you winter wear and gloves. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes and socks if possible. The place is small hence we didn't spend too much time there; also due to the cold. Its worth a visit for... More

We had never tried an ice bar before and it was a fun experience. They have the entry/exit down to a science so you don't have to be in there a minute longer than you want. I lasted about 15 minutes, even with the cloak they give you. I asked how often the cloaks get washed and he assured me... More

We walked a little further to get to this bar, it is popular with tourists. It was the first ice-bar we ever visited, Interesting if you have not experienced such a bar before.

The Ice bar was a nice experience to do once in Stockholm. You pay for entry and a first drink, and you can walk around until the (small) bar room, that has ice sculptures and ice pictures. It was very fun, but definitely not a Must of Stockholm.
