THE WORLD'S ORIGINAL ICE BAR ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL Stockholm is the world's first permanent bar made of ice, built in 2002. Every year in April, the interior and design is renewed with fresh ice from Torne River and skilful ice sculptors from ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi in the very north of Sweden. ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL Stockholm is open all year and has a constant temperature of -7 degrees celsius (19 degrees fahrenheit). The interior is made out of sculpted ice from the arctic Torne River, just like the glasses your drink is served out of. The bar has room for up to 60 people. The entry fee includes a cocktail and a visit lasts about 40 minutes. Children are welcome, and are served a colourful kids' drink. ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL Stockholm is centrally located on Vasaplan, next door to Stockholm Central Station and the airport shuttle train Arlanda Express. Nordic C Hotel is located in the same building as ICEBAR Stockholm. Since it opened in 2002, the ice bar has become a popular attraction in Stockholm, attracting both tourists and locals who want a slice of the arctic north in downtown Stockholm.

Expensive, but interesting.

My hubby thought this was a rip off, but I enjoyed my one, very expensive drink served in an ice cube, in a room made of blocks of ice.

It is one of the places that should be visited in Stockholm! For 200 kronas you buy an entrance ticket plus a drink. It is a nice idea to have such a cool place in Stockholm :) But... Believe me, if you are not an eskimo, one hour will be enough to have this drink, take a few pictures, adore... More

It has to be done really when you are here. You get 30 minutes to hang around and look at some ice sculptures whilst having a drinking in a glass made of ice. 1 drink comes in with the price and then just mill around and take some pictures. Best to purchase ticket in advance as its cheaper and also... More

This was my first experience at an ice bar, and it was GREAT! Expect to pay about $10-$15 per drink but well worth it as they are very strong. Wear your mittens (they provide them there).

The Ice Bar at the Nordic hotel is so much fun! For me who lives in a country that does not get that cold it was an incredible experience and I did not want to leave. Pity their stock of T-shirts did not have one in my size. This is an absolute must do. The drinks are small but enough... More

This was quite a treat to dress up for a short visit. the liggonnberry vodka was fantastic...and the inside was quite interesting with all the sculptures...and even a slide for your empties at the end.

We had so much fun in the ice bar! Excellent experience! We put on special cloaks against the cold, and went inside the awesome ice bar! The floor, the walls, the bar itself and even the drinking glasses were made of ice! The great design gave us the feeling we are actually inside an igloo in the North pole. Great... More

In some cities the idea of paying about £40 for two cocktails would seem excessive, it doesn't in Stockholm. And to be fair, the cocktails were really good. I'd never drunk from a glass made of ice before either. That is what the Icebar is about, trying something different. It's a novelty and a necessity to wear the thermal coat... More

This was the first Ice bar I've been to so can't compare to others. It was something I wanted to try out in Scandinavia for the novelty. At 205 SEK it was an expensive few minutes as you couldn't really stay beyond one drink.....unless you enjoy drinking vodka at -7 degrees Celsius! The inside is not that big with not... More

What an unusual location for an ICE BAR? But it works just great! After having "room temperature" vodka in St. Petersburg - was telling the wife what a difference when you taste Vodka @ 32 degrees on less! Sure enough she agreed ........... You are provided with "arctic" gear - includes gloves - when you step into a room filled... More
