Neighborhood: Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.

As soon as you walk in, you are offered a sample - the caramel is outstanding. There is a softer caramel flavor inside!!
We then watched a young woman make candy. — Such precision.
It was a little hard to decide exactly what to buy to take home. I did remember to take a photo explaining which candy is which flavor. Before we left we were offered a sample of chocolate and then a taste of the candy cane. Yum yum!! This is a must!!!

The candy is both traditional since 1857, similar to the well known candy canes, but there are all sorts of modern flavors. Ask for some help and get to know the special history of this candy.

We also booked a short two hour baking course for a couple of friends. So much fun. We laughed and baked six candy canes each.

Great place to watch candy being made from scratch. We stayed to watch a batch being made from the beginning and the workers saved a chunk of warm, sugary goodness to share with everyone in the shop. It was great for the kids to be able to see what goes into the candy and they loved being able to choose something just for them. They have a wooden riser in front of the glass for the kids to step up and watch from and the adults had just as much fun as the kids!

I would advise that you give them away promptly - if you bought the candy as gifts - as they get soft and melt quickly in humid temperatures. Or eat them while you are in Sweden, you win either way! The candy sticks are nicely wrapped and come in a variety of flavors. The glass bottles are heavy but make great gifts and their shopping specials are great deals too.

Gamla Stan is the well preserved old town Stockholm. You must walk the narrow cobblestone alleys, full of tall narrow houses with hoists on the roof to get furniture inside through the windows because the stairs are too narrow. Full of history, old pump wells, churches, and the palace, where you can watch the changing of the guard

Very good place... for sure crowded of visitors, but don't worry about it and feel the place... among the many shops, bars, restaurants I recommend one good place... The S:ta Clara Pub, Lilla Nygatan 17 (close to Gamla Stan Metro Station)... A place to eat, drink and the best is on the basement... there you can watch good music... Many local jazz, blues and rock (old style) musicians... Very good!!!!

I’m always looking for small souvenirs to take home and this candy store is perfect. Easily located in Old Town you can sample and buy handmade candies. A variety of flavors including traditional peppermint and ones like root beer and citrus are available. Items are bagged or boxed again making this candy store a great place to pick up some souvenirs.

Located in Gamla Stan. Cute candy shop that sells traditional Swedish candy to candies with a bit more modern twist. Very big selection. Great little gifts to bring back for friends.

This wasn’t exactly what I had in mind, but it’s still a fabulous candy store in Gamla Stan! Old fashioned, smells wonderful, and you can watch them make cane candy- their speciality. Get your sugar fix here! It’s delicious!

Yes, you can watch how the candy is made. But that’s it. It’s a small shop and i expected something more glorious after all the 5* reviews
